Requirements
  • Hold a terminal post-professional degree in speech language pathology, speech and hearing science, audiology, education or related field.
  • Hold a graduate professional degree with a major emphasis in speech language pathology, audiology or speech and hearing sciences.
  • Be licensed or eligible for licensure in West Virginia.
  • Have five years of experience in higher education as a faculty member.
  • Have a minimum of ten years of experience in their professional area.
  • Have held a leadership position in the clinical, professional, or academic setting.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and a commitment to a socially just community of students and educators.
  • Have demonstrated excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of an inter-professional team.
  • A scholarly record consistent with appointment at the rank of associate or full professor on clinical non-tenure track or tenure track.
  • Desirable positions in academic leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership through professional organizations
Responsibilities
  • Serve as Chairperson of the Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders and chief administrator of the education program.
  • Lead the academic program, including communication, ongoing program planning and assessment, and faculty development.
  • Provide mentorship and faculty development to faculty within the division.
  • Manage fiscal resources for the education program.
  • Oversee maintenance of program excellence, including accreditation and curriculum oversight.
  • Oversee student recruitment, admissions, curriculum, and the establishment of academic and professional standards.
  • Oversee program assessment across the division.
  • Represent the division in inter-professional education activities and coordination with the WVU Medicine Health System for clinical education of students.
