About the job

Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or backend engineering, preferably at a high-growth or AI-native company.
  • Strong fundamentals in service-oriented architectures, networking, and systems design, including the ability to reason about data and traffic flow through distributed systems and identify failure points.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and hands-on experience operating production services on Kubernetes.
  • Ability to take ambiguous goals from prototype to production, using customer feedback and operational data to drive product and architectural decisions.
  • Strong code and data modeling skills, producing clean, scalable work that is easy for others to extend.
  • A product-focused approach to platform work, measuring success by engineer adoption and satisfaction.
  • Use AI in the personal engineering workflow; the organization uses Claude Code and other AI tooling.
  • Experience working in a startup or strong interest in building from zero to one.
Responsibilities
  • Architect and optimize development infrastructure for agent and product work, including internal admin tooling (Anvil), CI/CD, deployment pipelines, development and demo environments, and Claude-Code-native engineering skills.
  • Build and maintain service infrastructure, including service architecture on Kubernetes, deployment pipelines, observability, shared libraries, secret management, and platform abstractions for reliable product services.
  • Set the production-readiness standard for services.
  • Own schemas, storage, and access patterns for investigation traces, agent trajectories, the resource graph, customer telemetry, and typed blobs; maintain data integrity and choose appropriate structure and storage primitives.
  • Own the MCP gateway routing tool calls, OAuth and credential management for customer integrations, deployment and lifecycle of self-hosted MCP servers, and the unified integration catalog.
  • Maintain reliability and enterprise trust through scalable token refresh, proactive health checks, and isolation for malfunctioning partner servers.
  • Partner with product, FDE, and research teams.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with MCP, OAuth, API gateways, or multi-tenant integration platforms.
  • Experience with modern observability, including OTEL and distributed tracing, and SRE best practices.
  • Experience building internal admin or developer tooling used by humans and agents.
  • Experience working on agent or large language model systems, including context management, tool use, and sandboxing.
  • Experience at a high-growth or AI-native company.

What believers are saying

  • Antimetal's 2025 $20 million Series A from Sound Ventures funded product expansion.
  • PeerSpot reviewers report up to 30% compute spend reduction after deployment.
  • Its free startups tier and 10% savings fee lower adoption friction for AWS-heavy teams.

What critics are saying

  • Finout, Vantage, and ProsperOps already cover broader FinOps workflows and multi-cloud spend.
  • CostPatrol says Antimetal only handles commitment optimization, missing idle instances and orphaned resources.
  • If AWS native Compute Optimizer expands commitments automation, Antimetal becomes a thinner savings-share layer.

What makes Antimetal unique

  • Antimetal automates AWS Savings Plans and RIs with underutilization insurance, unlike manual FinOps tools.
  • It charges only on verified savings, aligning revenue directly with customer outcomes.
  • Its 2026 docs emphasize automated reservation management and transparent savings instrumentation.
