Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience working with insurance companies, insurance claims, healthcare billing, and claims follow-up
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a problem solver
  • Capable of operating within a fast-paced, remote, startup environment
  • Bring empathy, patience, and grit to your interpersonal interactions
Responsibilities
  • Submit claims to health insurance payers
  • Monitor submitted claims statuses on an ongoing basis
  • Review denied claims to take the appropriate next steps including corrections and appeals
  • Use payer portals and call payers for claim status and additional claim details
  • Post insurance payments
  • Execute and interpret eligibility requests
  • Conduct outreach to internal support teams regarding missing or incorrect insurance information
  • Determine clients’ health insurance financial responsibility and bill appropriately
  • Support revenue cycle management metrics, reporting, and ongoing operational efficiencies
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working within large national payers, such as Cigna, United Healthcare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield is preferred
  • Familiarity with Candid Health RCM platform is preferred
