  • Strong knowledge and ability in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills, initiative, responsibility, flexibility, attention to detail, organization, time management, proofreading, and the ability to work independently and as part of a professional team.
  • Good mathematics skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to embrace new technology and processes.
  • Knowledge of structural design and at least one of concrete, masonry, steel, or timber.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least four years of drafting experience is required, along with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office knowledge or experience.
  • Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state occasionally, typically 10–20% of the time, depending on projects.
  • Ability to meet pre-employment drug-screen requirements and maintain an acceptable driving record when required to operate a motor vehicle on public roads.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine to complex drafting assignments for structural design projects in coordination with surveyors, project managers, engineers, and technicians.
  • Use AutoCAD, Revit, structural analysis, and other software to draft and design projects.
  • Perform drafting and design work for buildings, retaining walls, foundations, and other structures.
  • Transfer information from team members into computer-aided drafting software and apply appropriate symbols and drafting standards to create finished products.
  • Work with an engineer or designer on full plan development and prepare drawings from rough sketches or interpretations of field notes.
  • Work with field staff to document field conditions for reproduction in drawings.
  • Interpret as-built and redline information and make appropriate revisions to plans.
  • Manage drafting work and interface with other disciplines as needed.
  • Assist with the development, modification, and application of three-dimensional models in appropriate design software.
  • Assist with proposal preparation and fee development.
  • Handle multiple projects for multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Assist the Project Engineer or Project Manager with feasibility studies and layout work for complex structures.
Desired Qualifications
  • A two-year technical degree in design and drafting or civil engineering technology is preferred.
  • Experience using Revit and structural analysis software is preferred.
