Requirements
  • Consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate by email.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and related tools and technology.
  • Work products must be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and compliant with established criteria.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources, plus three to six years of experience in Human Resources or closely related experience, or ten to twelve years of directly related experience.
  • Compensation or benefits certification.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Tact, judgment, and strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with employees at all levels and help defuse controversial situations.
  • Interpersonal skills to establish and cultivate positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Independent judgment in planning, organizing, and completing projects.
  • Ability to interpret policy and procedure effectively to provide management and employees with alternative solutions to their concerns.
  • Ability to work a 40-hour work week schedule.
  • United States citizenship is required.
  • Eligibility for a Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as an Employment Authorization, by the United States Government's designated Security Office.
  • Ability to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to a Top Secret or Department of Energy Q clearance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe.
  • Ability to complete a Financial Disclosure Statement if required.
Responsibilities
  • Organize centralized administrative support services for the Savannah River Remediation Human Resources Division and provide strategic human resources management tools to senior staff.
  • Provide counsel, policy interpretation, and administrative services for the consistent maintenance, operation, and improvement of sitewide human resources programs and practices.
  • Resolve job-related employee problems and concerns.
  • Counsel employees experiencing personal problems that may affect the safe performance of their jobs or their physical and mental health.
  • Provide human resources operations support to individual operations organizations in staffing, merit planning, employee communication, constructive discipline, and professional development.
  • Coordinate activities supporting compensation management programs for exempt and nonexempt employees.
  • Coordinate activities supporting the employee benefits program and maintain complete and accurate personnel data records.
  • Organize and conduct recruitment, selection, and placement of qualified personnel as needed to meet site objectives.
  • Administer an equal employment opportunity program that develops an organizational distribution of minority and female employees approximating the available supply of qualified protected-category candidates.
  • Develop human resources programs that empower individuals to reach their full potential in support of the Savannah River Site mission.
  • Participate in special projects.
  • Work with vendors or outside consultants to develop and implement site programs as needed.
  • Perform job analyses and write job specifications and descriptions as needed.
  • Support Environmental Management Sector clients and team members as part of an engagement team cadre in fulfilling time-and-materials requirements.
  • Support human resources representative tasks and requirements for energy-industry organizations, including oil and gas, power and utilities, and nuclear energy.
  • Perform duties in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones and delivery schedules.
  • Travel occasionally to attend meetings, events, site visits, or training as coordinated and approved in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio, with the ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary.
