Irdeto and Chainalysis strengthen anti-piracy partnership.

Irdeto and Chainalysis strengthen anti-piracy partnership. September 7, 2026 11.37 Europe/London By Julian Clover Irdeto and blockchain data specialist Chainalysis are strengthening their partnership to tackle digital piracy and cryptocurrency-enabled cybercrime. The companies are combining blockchain intelligence, payment disruption and international law enforcement coordination to target pirate IPTV, streaming and gaming operations. Irdeto says its Cyber Services team can use Chainalysis Reactor to trace cryptocurrency transactions, identify exchange cash-out points and map financial links between pirate operators. The partnership contributed to a Europol-led operation in November 2025 involving law enforcement agencies from more than 15 European countries. It identified 69 piracy-related sites, traced around $55 million (€46.9 million) in cryptocurrency transactions and referred 25 illicit IPTV services to major cryptocurrency exchanges for disruption. Irdeto says its investigations over the past year indicate that cryptocurrency now represents around 20% of payment methods offered by digital pirates. Mark Mulready, VP of Cyber Services at Irdeto, said cryptocurrency has become central to the increasingly sophisticated criminal piracy business, adding that the partnership enables investigators to "follow the money" and expose the networks behind these operations. Chainalysis says blockchain transactions are highly traceable when investigators have the appropriate tools, allowing suspicious transaction patterns and wallets linked to illicit activity to be identified. The companies say their collaboration is aimed at helping rights holders, broadcasters, sports leagues and streaming platforms disrupt pirate businesses at both their operational and financial levels.

Chainalysis adds HyperEVM support for Hyperliquid compliance monitoring.

Chainalysis adds HyperEVM support for Hyperliquid compliance monitoring. September 5, 2026 8:00 PM Table of contents Chainalysis has added support for HyperEVM, the Ethereum-compatible smart contract environment on the Hyperliquid Layer 1, the blockchain analytics firm announced on September 3, 2026. The integration brings Chainalysis's compliance and investigation tooling to Hyperliquid's growing onchain ecosystem, letting customers monitor activity across the network's native token and the applications deployed on top of it. The announcement is the latest chain-coverage expansion from the analytics firm, which routinely adds automatic token support for emerging networks. Automatic Coverage for ERC-20 and ERC-721 Tokens. Support extends well beyond the native HYPE token. Chainalysis said it will automatically add coverage for new fungible and non-fungible tokens deployed on HyperEVM that follow major standards such as ERC-20 and ERC-721. Because fresh tokens are minted on the network daily, the firm's platform now ingests them without manual intervention, closing the gap between a token's launch and its availability for screening. Customers can run Know Your Transaction (KYT) checks with actionable alerts and continuous monitoring, and the same coverage is wired into Chainalysis's entity screening products and Reactor, its flagship investigations tool. That lets analysts track fund flows across HyperEVM tokens, investigate transactions, visualize money movements, and identify potentially illicit activity. Where HyperEVM fits in Hyperliquid. HyperEVM is Hyperliquid's Ethereum-compatible execution environment. It lets developers port Ethereum-based applications onto the Layer 1 while still connecting to HyperCore and the wider Hyperliquid ecosystem, effectively extending the chain beyond its high-throughput perpetuals venue. For a compliance provider, that compatibility carries practical weight: the token standards and smart-contract patterns investigators already know from Ethereum now apply to Hyperliquid's chain, so fund-flow tracking and transaction investigation work through familiar interfaces rather than bespoke tooling. Compliance infrastructure catches up to a busy network. The move arrives as Hyperliquid draws attention from developers and enforcement alike. Arkham recently reported that the Lazarus Group sold more than $30 million in bitcoin on Hyperliquid, underscoring why monitoring tools for the network matter. Separately, the Hyperliquid Policy Center has asked the CFTC to allow energy perpetual contracts in the U.S., a sign that the platform's regulatory footprint is expanding as quickly as its trading activity. By extending coverage now, Chainalysis positions its customers to screen an ecosystem that is still adding tokens and use cases by the day.

FBI seizes $560,000 in crypto from Hamas in past 18 months.

FBI seizes $560,000 in crypto from Hamas in past 18 months. In an 18-month counterterrorism operation, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents confiscated more than $560,000 in crypto and dismantled the primary online network used by Hamas, a Palestinian political and military organization that is designated as a terrorist group by the United States, Israel, and the European Union. Federal investigators executed three cryptocurrency seizure warrants on March 25, 2025, June 25, 2025, and October 10, 2025, according to Department of Justice (DoJ) court filings unsealed on September 1, which Finbold analyzed on September 4, 2026. The report noted that Hamas's Al Qassam Brigades used cryptocurrency to solicit funds and recruit supporters. Additionally, the FBI's Albuquerque Field Office dismantled the Hamas-linked digital infrastructure by seizing the servers and web domains. Specifically, the DoJ revealed that the primary website, AlQassam.ps, enabled law enforcement to intercept incoming cryptocurrency transfers and obtain vital intelligence on thousands of prospective donors. "A message to Hamas: We will stop your fundraising for terror. Your networks are not secure, your crypto is vulnerable, and we will not stop until your ability to wage war is defeated," Jeanine Ferris Pirro, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. DoJ works with Chainalysis to counter Hamas crypto operations. To disrupt Hamas's digital financing in 2025, the DoJ worked alongside Chainalysis, a private blockchain analytics platform, to expose and track its financial networks. These law enforcement agents utilized tools like Chainalysis Reactor, to identify cross-chain bridging, money mules, and rotating donation wallets. Notably, the FBI identified recurring links, including shared gas-funding wallets used across multiple addresses controlled by the Al Qassam Brigades. Building on these on-chain insights, federal authorities coordinated with private cryptocurrency exchanges and digital asset entities to execute court-authorized seizure warrants. As a result, the FBI froze targeted wallet addresses, intercepted incoming donor transfers, and confiscated illicit digital assets. These funds are likely to end up in the Strategic Bitcoin (BTC) Reserve or the United States Digital Asset Stockpile once final forfeiture is completed.
