Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A diploma from an accredited vocational or technical Licensed Vocational Nurse program is required.
  • A current unrestricted Licensed Vocational Nurse license issued by the State of California is required.
  • A current Basic Life Support Provider certification issued by the American Heart Association is required.
  • The role requires the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff, customers, and patients by telephone or in person.
  • The role requires knowledge of applicable State, Federal, and Agency standards and the ability to apply them to regulatory compliance.
  • The role requires the ability to provide safe, appropriate, ethical, and evidence-based care within the scope of practice.
  • The role requires the ability to use software applications, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and healthcare technology within the specialty area.
  • The role requires the ability to operate mechanical and medical devices or equipment.
  • The role requires time management, priority-setting, independent work, and the ability to manage multiple complex and competing priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Support physicians and nursing staff in delivering healthcare.
  • Perform patient care assessments and medically related tasks in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Provide nursing services within the Licensed Vocational Nurse scope of practice.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient care and business matters.
  • Incorporate feedback and self-reflection to improve quality of care and operational processes.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of Licensed Vocational Nurse experience is preferred.
  • A current Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certificate issued by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians is preferred.
