Requirements
  • 4–8+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or product marketing/management with strong external instincts.
  • Highly credible in a product conversation: You don’t need to write code, but you can hold your own with an applied AI team, read a model card, and understand what makes a brilliant native integration.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, high-stakes external relationships with cloud, platform, or enterprise tech giants.
  • Strong understanding of GTM mechanics: You've shipped joint campaigns and product launches end-to-end, and you care deeply about positioning and messaging, not just getting a logo placement.
  • A world-class operator: Highly organised, with the ability to run trackers, close the loop, and handle executive escalations with poise and absolute clarity.
  • Deep curiosity about AI: You use the tools daily, have an active point of view on LLMs, and are excited to build the definitive AI layer for the legal industry.
Responsibilities
  • Bridge the Product Teams: Act as the primary interface between Wordsmith’s product/engineering org and our partners' applied AI, product, and developer-relations teams.
  • Drive Native Ecosystem Integration: Ensure Wordsmith is deeply embedded into our partners’ core surfaces (e.g., Anthropic’s MCP connector ecosystem, Claude for Legal, and Microsoft Copilot) so customers experience a seamless application stack.
  • Secure the Frontier Roadmap: Track partner release schedules to unlock early model previews, platform betas, and co-build opportunities for our engineering team.
  • Manage Technical Inbound: Own incoming partner opportunities (betas, credits, co-builds) and strategically route them internally to keep our platform ahead of the curve.
  • Ship High-Impact Launches: Partner with our marketing team and partners to execute joint case studies, technical blog posts, and major partner ecosystem feature launches.
  • Insert Wordsmith into the AI Narrative: Keep Wordsmith top-of-mind with partner marketing teams so we are featured unprompted in their customer reels, ecosystem showcases, and keynotes.
  • Convert Events to Pipeline: Project-manage our presence at a high-leverage joint event calendar (e.g., Anthropic Summits, Microsoft Build/Ignite), turning hallway conversations into product feedback and sales pipeline.
  • Maintain Relationship Cadence: Run a crisp operational cadence with partner contacts while helping establish senior-to-senior touchpoints that our executive team can rely on.
  • Map the Ecosystem: Build and maintain an active map of stakeholders across our partners—from applied AI engineering leads to product marketing executives.
Desired Qualifications
  • Existing relationships inside Anthropic, Microsoft, or the broader LLM/cloud ecosystem.
  • Experience as an early partnerships or product hire at a fast-growing, early-stage startup.
  • Background working within legal tech, complex enterprise software, or regulated industries.

Wordsmith AI is an in-house legal platform that acts as a central intake and workflow for all legal requests across a business. It auto-triages and routes requests based on priority, revenue impact, and jurisdiction, pulling context from tools like Salesforce, Slack, and Ironclad to draft redlines and flag issues, then records the outcome back in the originating system. It learns a team’s standards so routine matters are resolved automatically, with only complex issues reaching lawyers; it covers contract review and drafting, an AI assistant, AI agents, reporting, repositories, legal research, and intake, with integrations to Word, Slack, Microsoft 365, and MCP. Its goal is to speed up turnaround, reduce outside counsel spend, and make the legal operation more efficient and auditable.

Starling selects Wordsmith as the AI Platform for its in-house legal team.

Starling selects Wordsmith as the AI Platform for its in-house legal team. How Starling's legal team chose the platform to run a multi-specialist function inside a regulated bank. Starling, one of the United Kingdom's leading digital banks, has selected Wordsmith to support its in-house legal, regulatory affairs and data privacy function. The platform is deployed across its corporate, banking, commercial, disputes, regulatory affairs, data privacy, and employment teams, with self-service legal support extended across the business. Three things decided it. * Wordsmith was built around the function, not a single use case. The team's playbooks, knowledge, and positions sit inside the system. * The work happens in Wordsmith. Other tools speed up an individual task and hand the result back. Wordsmith does the work in the system, where the team can see what was asked, who owned it, and what was delivered. * The security met the requirements of a regulated UK bank. No training on customer data, ring-fenced environment, full audit logs. "Starling is exactly what Wordsmith is built for. A multi-specialist team in a regulated environment needs the system that runs the function, not another tool that sits alongside it." Ross McNairn, CEO, Wordsmith "Our priority was to find a platform that could support the legal function as a strategic partner to the business, not just automate isolated tasks. We needed technology that could integrate with our existing systems, scale across multiple legal disciplines, and meet the rigorous security and audit requirements of a regulated bank. After evaluating the market, we selected Wordsmith because it best aligned with those needs and our long-term vision for how legal technology should support Starling's growth." Monica Risam, Group General Counsel, Starling Wordsmith as the choice for in-house legal matter management. Starling joins enterprise legal teams across financial services, retail, media, and life sciences that have chosen Wordsmith. The pattern is consistent: teams that evaluated the legal AI market concluded that point tools were not enough. They needed a system that ran the function. Different industries. Same conclusion. About Wordsmith. Wordsmith is the AI platform for in-house legal departments. The platform gives legal teams the infrastructure to manage all their work in one place, covering intake, contracts, research, compliance, and governance, and to extend legal support across the business without adding headcount. Customers include the Financial Times, Next, Sage, Selfridges, Revolut, Canva, BT, and now Starling. FEATURE SECTION BOOK A DEMO Ready to transform your legal department? Canada's forced labor Import Ban and EU AI Act Countdown: the double whammy of compliance in 2026.

Canada's forced labor Import Ban and EU AI Act Countdown: the double whammy of compliance in 2026. Meta Description: Canada tables tough new forced labor import legislation with reversed burden of proof; EU AI Act countdown to August 2; USMCA joint review scheduled for July 1; LOD and Consilio partner with Wordsmith. The shift in Canada's supply chain enforcement. On June 12, 2026, the Canadian federal government tabled new standalone legislation, the "Ban on Importing Goods Made with Forced Labour Act." This represents a significant escalation from previous amendments to the Customs Tariff. The proposed act establishes a public registry of high-risk goods and suppliers. Crucially, for goods listed on this registry, the legislation shifts the burden of proof to the importer. Importers must provide positive, auditable evidence of supply chain tracing to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to secure release, or face indefinite detention of their shipments. For Canadian SMEs, this means "plausible deniability" is officially dead; supplier audits must be proactive and legally documented. EU AI Act: the August 2 countdown. Meanwhile, global compliance teams are facing the final stretch before the first major enforcement milestone of the EU AI Act on August 2, 2026. On this date, the transparency requirements and specific obligations for general-purpose AI (GPAI) models and high-risk systems become legally binding. With European regulators signaling zero tolerance and no planned enforcement delays, businesses interacting with the EU market must audit their software and algorithms. Any corporate legal team using or deploying AI-driven systems must verify compliance alignment or risk substantial fines of up to €35 million or 7% of global turnover. CUSMA/USMCA Joint Review: tariff disruption looms. Further complicating international commerce is the upcoming CUSMA/USMCA 2026 Joint Review scheduled for July 1, 2026. U.S. political leadership has expressed deep skepticism about a straightforward renewal. If the three nations fail to agree on a 16-year extension, the agreement will enter a complex, highly unstable annual review cycle until 2036. This uncertainty threatens the duty-free status of billions in cross-border trade, making it essential for Canadian and U.S. businesses to review long-term supply agreements and build in protective clauses. Wordsmith partners with LOD & Consilio for managed delivery. In legal technology, the integration of AI is transitioning from internal firm adoption to client-facing managed delivery. On June 15, 2026, legal outsourcing giants LOD (Lawyers on Demand) and Consilio announced a partnership with Wordsmith, the AI-native workflow platform. LOD will integrate Wordsmith's generative AI and contract analysis capabilities directly into its legal managed services model. This partnership enables LOD to deliver high-volume contract reviews and compliance tracking with unprecedented speed, demonstrating how AI is shifting the legal industry from billing by the hour to delivering technology-enabled outcomes. Strategic checklist for SMEs and legal teams. * Implement Traceability Clauses: Exporters must rewrite supplier agreements to mandate "Reasonable Country of Origin Inquiry" (RCOI) documents and supply-chain mapping assistance. * Execute Algorithmic Audits: Evaluate any software utilizing AI for compliance with EU transparency frameworks if operating or selling in Europe. * Draft Tariff Adjustment Terms: Review long-term sales and supply agreements to include tariff-renegotiation triggers ahead of the July 1 USMCA review. * Leverage AI-Native Managed Services: Review legal service delivery models to incorporate AI-assisted contract review (like the LOD/Wordsmith offering) to reduce legal spend.
