Requirements
  • Experience with networking fundamentals, including hands-on experience with load balancers, switches, and routers.

  • Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, EtherCAT, or Modbus TCP.
Responsibilities
  • Execute on-site commissioning activities for sorters, conveyors, and automated work cells.
  • Provision, configure, and validate Linux-based Industrial PCs, programmable logic controllers, human-machine interfaces, industrial networks, and field devices per project standards.
  • Perform input/output checkouts, network validation, and phased system bring-up activities.
  • Execute commissioning and test plans, including sequencing, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support dry runs, functional testing, and integrated system testing through startup and handover.
  • Serve as the primary on-site technical resource for controls, networking, and system integration issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve industrial networking problems, including IP conflicts, VLAN issues, switch configuration, and fieldbus communication faults.
  • Troubleshoot programmable logic controller logic, device configuration, safety interlocks, and system-level faults across electrical, controls, and mechanical boundaries.
  • Perform structured root-cause analysis and support implementation of permanent corrective actions.
  • Document issues, resolutions, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement and future deployments.
  • Provide day-to-day technical direction to technicians, electricians, and commissioning support personnel during system deployment.
  • Coordinate with system integrators, original equipment manufacturers, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and unblock progress.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, and commissioning best practices during installation and testing.
  • Validate equipment functionality against design specifications, controls standards, and operational requirements.
  • Support integration of equipment into Warehouse Control Systems and higher-level orchestration layers.
  • Participate in turnover activities, ensuring systems are stable, documented, and ready for operational ownership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve commissioning efficiency, reliability, and repeatability.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of commissioning tools, test procedures, and deployment standards.
  • Provide feedback to design and integration teams to improve future system designs and deployment outcomes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts in an IEC 61131-3 environment, such as structured function blocks and reusable control architectures.
  • Experience supporting large-scale commissioning projects such as automated warehouses, conveyor and sorter systems, or complex manufacturing environments.

Goldman Sachs has added Amazon to its conviction buy list with a 12-month price target of $375, representing approximately 50% upside from current levels. The stock already carries buy ratings from 95% of Wall Street analysts. Amazon crossed $3 trillion in market capitalisation for the first time in August following strong second-quarter results. AWS revenue reached $42.2 billion in Q2, up 37% year over year — the division's fastest growth in 18 quarters. Total company revenue hit $200.6 billion, up 20%, marking the first time Amazon surpassed $200 billion in a single quarter. CEO Andy Jassy said capital expenditures are projected to reach $220 billion this year, driven by AI-related demand.

Amazon locks 350M Alexa shoppers in walled garden as Shopify opens checkout to every AI agent

Amazon and Shopify reported Q2 2026 results revealing sharply divergent AI shopping strategies. Elizabeth Warren demands answers as Amazon, Google, Meta and Microsoft claim $96B in AI tax breaks

Senator Elizabeth Warren is demanding answers from Amazon, Google, Meta, and Microsoft over $96 billion in lost federal revenue from AI-related tax breaks. Despite reporting massive revenues in Q2 2026, the tech giants saw significant tax reductions last year. Amazon paid $7.8 billion less in tax, Meta nearly $7 billion less, whilst Microsoft and Alphabet each qualified for roughly $19 billion in tax cuts. The companies are benefiting from provisions in Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, including 100% bonus depreciation for AI data centres and expanded R&D tax credits. Corporate tax revenues have dropped 23% this year, largely due to these AI tax breaks. Warren and fellow lawmakers have sent letters to the companies' CEOs questioning the tax breaks and their lobbying efforts, arguing the costs have been imposed on American families through cuts to Social Security and other programmes.

Amazon eyes Dallas Galleria tower with $57M renovation

A 16-storey office tower in Dallas' Galleria area is undergoing a $57 million renovation, with records suggesting Amazon may be the incoming tenant. The project at 13737 Noel Road, known as Galleria North Tower I, involves a two-phase interior renovation covering 223,000 square feet. Construction is expected to begin in January and last through mid-August 2027. The filing lists "DFW 22" as the tenant, a naming convention consistent with Amazon's other facilities, and includes contact details for an Amazon construction manager. WS Development purchased the building for roughly $63.4 million in June 2025. Amazon already maintains a presence nearby at Two Galleria Tower, where it renewed its five-year lease in 2024.

Amazon takes $50M stake in Taiwanese AI server supplier Gold Circuit Electronics

Amazon is acquiring a NT$1.59 billion (approximately $49 million) stake in Gold Circuit Electronics, a Taiwanese manufacturer of printed circuit boards for AI servers and network switches. The investment will give Amazon roughly 13% ownership in GCE. The deal marks Amazon's strategic move to secure supply chain capacity for its AI infrastructure needs. GCE specialises in high-layer-count PCBs used in advanced computing systems, which have become increasingly critical as demand for AI hardware accelerates. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months, subject to regulatory approval. GCE supplies multiple technology companies but will now have Amazon as a significant shareholder, potentially securing priority access to production capacity during periods of high demand.
