- High school diploma or equivalent; comprehensive background check required prior to starting.
- College coursework in psychology, education, or a related field is preferred (not required).
- Previous experience working with children, especially those with autism or developmental disorders, is a plus (not strictly required).
- Reliable transportation to travel to clients' homes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with clients, parents, and caregivers.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on individuals.
- Basic understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis principles and techniques is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Implement individualized ABA therapy sessions based on treatment plans provided by the BCBA.
- Work directly with clients in their home environment to teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors.
- Collect and record data on client progress during each session.
- Collaborate with the BCBA to adjust treatment strategies and techniques as needed.
- Maintain professionalism, ethical standards, and client confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about session outcomes.
- Attend regular supervision meetings with the BCBA to discuss client progress and receive guidance.
- Formal training in Applied Behavior Analysis is provided by the organization.
- Opportunity to advance to a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or pursue further education in the field.
- Experience working with BCBA supervisors and center-based therapy settings is beneficial.
- Preferred but not required: experience with children with autism or developmental disorders may be beneficial.
Sunflower Development Center in Raynham, MA provides neurodiversity-affirming pediatric therapy by integrating ABA, Speech-Language, and Occupational Therapy for children roughly 18 months to 12 years old. Therapies can occur at the center, at home, in the community, or at daycares, with two ABA structures: a Comprehensive program (25+ hours per week) and a Focused program (<25 hours per week), plus school consultation and functional behavior assessments. The center uses a child-led, play-based, and relationship-focused approach with Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions to build communication, social skills, emotional regulation, and daily living through meaningful activities. The goal is to support skill development while honoring each child’s individuality and strengths, working in collaboration with families rather than trying to change the child’s core identity, and to help children grow in joyful, collaborative ways.
