Requirements
  • A current journeyman electrician license is required; a valid reciprocal state journeyman license is acceptable if an Idaho state license is obtained within 30 days.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle record for the past seven years are required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, pull wire, bend pipe, and compute electrical formulas.
  • Knowledge of installing control circuits and other electrical components.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical plans, complex circuit schematics, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of changing electrical codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Experience with commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems, electrical efficiency, fire alarms, lighting control systems, lighting types, heat tape, Xcel Energy requirements, and other electrical utility guidelines.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to work with other trades.
  • Ability to adapt to constant changes and moving around.
  • Dependable attendance and compliance with scheduled work hours.
  • A respectful and courteous approach to customers and coworkers.
Responsibilities
  • Respond to scheduled jobs as directed by the coordinator and manager.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
  • Install electrical work and complete service projects for customers.
  • Keep the service van stocked with required materials.
  • Drive the service van professionally and courteously.
  • Keep the service van clean and organized, and maintain and account for all tools.
  • Maintain a neat and presentable appearance.
  • Order materials required to complete jobs.
  • Complete daily paperwork and submit it as directed by the manager.
  • Notify customers when work is complete and verify their satisfaction.
  • Obtain the customer's signature on the work order before leaving the site.
  • Sell additional service when appropriate and leave a card or pamphlet after completed projects.
  • Work with technicians and managers on improvement ideas and support other technicians.
  • Discuss projects with customers, demonstrate urgency, and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Leave each job site cleaner than it was on arrival.
  • Perform other duties or work at other locations as assigned by the manager.
