Viasat introduces three service tiers for JetXP connectivity.

Viasat introduces three service tiers for JetXP connectivity. By Izzy Kington 16th October 2026 2 Mins Read Viasat has announced a new service plan structure for its JetXP business aviation inflight connectivity service. For the first time, it is also publishing suggested retail pricing. There will be three tiers, ranging from a light-use option to unlimited connectivity, available across Honeywell Aerospace's JetWave and JetWave X and Gogo's Plane Simple Ka terminals. Viasat said pricing on the new tiers is more competitive than before and reflects the added capacity now available across its global network. Manufacturer suggested retail prices (MSRPs) are being published for all service plans using the JetWave X and Plane Simple Ka terminals. The MSRPs start from under US$11,000 per month for an unlimited connectivity plan, and retail pricing is fixed for the full term of the service agreement. The new plans and suggested retail pricing take effect on 1 January 2027. Details of all MSRPs are available on the Viasat website. Viasat said the plans were developed with its partners and customers, who reported that private jet owners, flight departments, charter operators and fleet managers "needed a simpler way to select the right level of connectivity for their needs and to understand exactly what it costs". The change follows the completion of the ViaSat-3 constellation. ViaSat-3 F2 entered service over the Americas in September 2026, F3 having entered service across Asia-Pacific a month earlier. Together with F1, they triple the bandwidth available across Viasat's global fleet. All three satellites use beamforming technology that can dynamically follow aircraft across the coverage area. "Business aviation operators have told us clearly that they want inflight connectivity they can rely on and pricing they can plan around," said Don Buchman, president of aviation at Viasat. "With our most advanced global satellites now fully operational, we can offer both. At a time when operators are navigating unpredictable pricing elsewhere in the market, offering fixed-term plans with suggested retail pricing reinforces our commitment to being a partner operators can continue to trust, not just for performance, but for certainty." JetXP is active on more than 2,100 aircraft worldwide. Viasat will showcase the solution at NBAA-BACE 2026 in Las Vegas on 20-22 October, at West Hall booth 2035.

ALL.SPACE secures Viasat order for Hydra MAX SATCOM terminals.

ALL.SPACE secures Viasat order for Hydra MAX SATCOM terminals. This follows a strategic partnership between the two companies earlier this year to integrate, test and certify ALL.SPACE's Hydra terminal range for use on Viasat's Ka-band network. ALL.SPACE, a York Space Systems company specialising in multi-orbit, multi-link satellite communications (SATCOM), has secured an order from Viasat for multiple Hydra MAX terminals, marking a commercial milestone following the launch of its second-generation terminal range. The order reflects growing demand for resilient, high-capacity satellite communications systems capable of operating across complex network architectures. It also highlights interest in flexible and interoperable SATCOM solutions among government and defence users requiring reliable connectivity while operating in challenging environments. Hydra MAX enables simultaneous connectivity across multiple independent satellite links and commercial and military Ka-band networks spanning highly elliptical orbit (HEO), geostationary orbit (GEO), medium Earth orbit (MEO) and emerging low Earth orbit (LEO) constellations. Based on ALL.SPACE's lens-array digital beamforming technology, the terminal supports high-performance beam scanning and communications on the move across land and maritime platforms. The system offers up to 500MHz of instantaneous bandwidth per beam and 1GHz of aggregate bandwidth in the Ka-band, supporting mission-critical communications for mobile command operations and land and maritime applications. Its intelligent link management and policy-based routing capabilities allow operators to direct traffic across available connections to help maintain performance in degraded or bandwidth-constrained network conditions. The latest order builds on the collaboration between ALL.SPACE and Viasat to expand assured Ka-band connectivity for government and defence customers. Hydra MAX is now operational on Viasat's NextGen Ka-band network, providing access to its global infrastructure, including military Ka-band services, while extending the flexibility of ALL.SPACE’s multi-orbit architecture. Designed for resilience, Hydra MAX combines resistance to jamming with an open architecture that supports interoperability across different satellite networks and vendors. This approach is intended to reduce dependence on a single provider or orbital system while enabling reliable connectivity across current and future SATCOM infrastructures. Rod McCurdy, CEO of ALL.SPACE, said: "This order reflects the strong market response to Hydra MAX since its commercial launch and underscores growing demand for resilient, multi-orbit connectivity among government and defense users. With Hydra MAX now approved to operate on Viasat's global integrated Ka-band network, customers can combine the benefits of Viasat's assured global infrastructure with ALL.SPACE's true simultaneous multi-link capability to maintain high-integrity communications wherever resilient connectivity is required." Expect higher inflight Wi-Fi speeds as ViaSat-3 F2 enters service.

Expect higher inflight Wi-Fi speeds as ViaSat-3 F2 enters service. Passengers flying on several airlines across the Americas should expect to see reliably higher inflight Wi-Fi speeds now that Viasat's ultra-high-capacity ViaSat-3 F2 (VS3 F2) geostationary satellite has officially entered service. In the Americas, Viasat counts Aeromexico, Azul, American, Breeze, Delta, JetBlue, LATAM, Southwest and United among its customers. "Rollout on VS3 F2 is already underway: several airlines are already connected with more onboarding each day," Viasat told Runway Girl Network after announcing VS3 F2's entry-into-service on September 17, and with it, the completion of its three-satellite ViaSat-3 constellation. VS3 F2 joins the VS3 F1 satellite that has been supporting inflight connectivity on U.S. mainland-Hawaii routes, as well as VS3 F3, which entered service over Asia-Pacific in late August and has notably plugged a key gap in Viasat's near-global coverage. Together, the entire ViaSat-3 constellation triples the bandwidth available across Viasat's fleet, giving the network more capacity, flexibility and resilience to meet growing demand for connectivity onboard planes. Now, Viasat says it's ramping up to have its entire VS3-enabled customer fleet connected "in the coming month or so." VS3 F3 is bellwether. Since VS3 F3 entered service over APAC, thousands of flights have availed of the Ka-band GEO satellite's capacity and new tails are coming online daily. Indeed, metrics from VS3 F3 usage serve as an indicator for what to expect with VS3 F2. Viasat says: VS3 F3's advanced beam-forming steers bandwidth in real time to where demand is highest, so a full cabin gets capacity concentrated where it's needed rather than spread thin, which matters more as passengers move from seatback screens to streaming and working on their own devices. Early results? Service quality metrics are up across the board. Latency, availability, reliability, and speeds. Some have improved by over 10x. Median peak throughput (i.e., typical consumption) is up 3x so far - a strong sign passengers are engaging more with the service. Given that the lion's share of its mainline fleet including international widebodies are fitted with Viasat's IFC hardware, Delta will utilize all three high-capacity ViaSat-3 satellites to power its Delta Sync free Wi-Fi for loyalty members. That should equate to a far better experience for guests. One might argue that VS3 F2 and F3 are hitting at just the right time, as some Delta passengers have vocalized consternation that the U.S. major's service compares unfavorably to the SpaceX Starlink Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satcom solution rolling out across rival United's fleet. "The Viasat network is designed to address the growing demands of connected mobility, and aviation remains one of the clearest demonstrations of what that means in practice," says Viasat Aviation president Don Buchman. "The digital world has become a fundamental part of culture - how we communicate, work, socialize and relax. The ViaSat-3 constellation's flexible, high-capacity throughput further enables passengers to behave online in the skies as they do at home, through a network capable of delivering both scale and resilience, now and well into the future." While speed is just one factor in high-quality IFC performance, passengers "should expect service quality metrics to go up across the board, including reliably higher speeds," Viasat tells RGN. Residential gets a boost as well. Also of note, pricing has come down for Viasat's U.S. residential service and its Wi-Fi appears to be available in more areas. This is a direct result of VS3 F2 entering service. Viasat reveals it will soon deliver "enhanced broadband performance for residential customers across the U.S. with improvements in customer experience," while extending its reach to serve more markets nationwide.
