Requirements
  • Experience carrying quota directly or operating close to revenue ownership.
  • Ability to diagnose stalled deals and shortfalls through rigorous analysis of personal approach and pipeline.
  • Ability to operate with incomplete information, surface deal risks early, and build structure from cold accounts independently.
  • Understanding of buyer incentives, organizational pressures, and the dynamics that make a purchase possible within a regulated institution.
  • Ability to prioritize named accounts and focus effort on high-leverage opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences ranging from mid-level managers to function leaders and write clearly to reframe problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder commercial processes and generate revenue without heavy structural support.
Responsibilities
  • Run enterprise-quality buying processes across a named account list, managing complex multi-stakeholder deals from cold outreach to close.
  • Build champions by equipping them with materials, preparing them for internal meetings, and anticipating objections.
  • Construct business cases based on recovery-rate uplift and financial impact rather than feature comparisons, making the cost of inaction clear to C-suite stakeholders.
  • Navigate procurement, legal redlines, and compliance dependencies independently, surfacing constraints proactively before signature.
  • Maintain deal hygiene by working cold and warm leads, disqualifying poor-fit opportunities, and prioritizing scalable accounts.
  • Codify winning messages, buyer archetypes, and recurring objections into an increasingly effective go-to-market motion.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience selling technically complex or regulated products.
  • Experience as an early employee at a high-growth company.
  • A background in banking or consulting before moving into commercial work.
  • Experience in conventional Account Executive roles, consulting, banking, partnerships, strategy, or growth functions.

January is a debt collection platform that serves creditors (banks and financial institutions) and borrowers (individuals or businesses who owe money). It uses a tech-enabled approach to improve debt recovery by applying machine learning to optimize collection strategies while prioritizing compliant, respectful interactions. The platform automates adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and increases recovery rates for creditors, reducing legal and reputational risk. Its key differentiator is combining data-driven autorecovery optimization with a personalized, human-centric approach, treating borrowers with dignity instead of treating them as numbers. The business earns revenue by charging creditors for using the platform, based on the improved recovery outcomes and lower risk. The goal is to raise recovery rates, lower risk, and set a higher standard for ethical debt collection in the financial services industry.
