Arkema unveils new €10 million hydrogen facility to boost production at Jarrie site.

Arkema unveils new €10 million hydrogen facility to boost production at Jarrie site. Key points. * Arkema inaugurated a new hydrogen generation facility in Jarrie, France, costing €10 million. * The facility will enhance Arkema's hydrogen peroxide production, crucial for various industries. * The investment is part of a broader strategy to improve hydrogen circulation and raw material sourcing. * The Jarrie site plays a vital role in Arkema's global hydrogen peroxide manufacturing network. On September 22, 2026, Arkema celebrated the opening of a new hydrogen generation facility at its Jarrie site in France. This state-of-the-art steam methane reforming plant, which began operations in July 2026, represents a significant investment of around €10 million and marks the first phase of a larger program scheduled to continue until 2028. The facility's establishment is a pivotal step for Arkema, a leading global producer of hydrogen peroxide, with a network of four manufacturing plants across Europe and North America. The Jarrie site holds a central position in this network, being the largest manufacturing site for hydrogen peroxide within Arkema's portfolio. The hydrogen generated at this new facility will primarily supply the Jarrie site, thus enhancing its operational efficiency and output. Arkema's investment comes at a time of strategic restructuring, as the company aims to sharpen its focus on key products such as hydrogen peroxide, chlorate, and perchlorate. Following an announcement in January 2025 regarding the restructuring plans, the company is actively working to streamline operations and improve production capabilities. The additional projects expected to launch through 2026 and 2027 are specifically designed to enhance hydrogen circulation within the facility and ensure a stable supply of raw materials. Hydrogen peroxide, a well-established product at the Jarrie site, is utilized in diverse applications, including pulp and paper production, electronics manufacturing, and as a chemical synthesis intermediate. The facility also produces sodium chlorate and sodium perchlorate, which serve customers in various sectors such as electronics, water treatment, and aerospace. Notably, Arkema has a long-standing relationship with ArianeGroup, a prominent player in the aerospace industry, underscoring the importance of the Jarrie site in serving critical market needs. Matthieu Brisson has been appointed as the Director of the Jarrie site, leading the charge in implementing these strategic initiatives aimed at bolstering Arkema's position in the global market. The new hydrogen facility not only signifies Arkema's commitment to expanding its hydrogen production capabilities but also reflects the company's broader strategy to align with sustainable energy practices and advance industrial innovation. The positive sentiment surrounding this development highlights the growing recognition of hydrogen's role in the chemical industry and the importance of investing in production facilities that meet increasing market demands. As Arkema continues its investment journey, the Jarrie site is poised to become a key player in the hydrogen economy, shaping the future of chemical manufacturing. €100 million investment: supporting hydrogen production plant of Arkema France put into operation. 2026-09-24 09:52:11 Source:ChemNet 中文 On September 22nd, specialty materials company Arkema held a inauguration ceremony for its new hydrogen production plant at its Jarrie facility in Isère, France, marking a major milestone in the site's restructuring plan. This plant adopts the steam methane reforming (SMR) process and will specifically supply hydrogen feedstock for the Jarrie site. Arkema is a leading global producer of hydrogen peroxide, with four production bases across Europe and North America. The Jarrie plant is the group's largest hydrogen peroxide production base and holds a core position in its global hydrogen peroxide industrial network. The total investment of this project amounts to approximately 10 million euros, and it is the first phase of a large-scale investment plan that will run until 2028. The plant successfully completed its commissioning and went into production on schedule in July 2026. The smooth realization of this project benefited from the close collaboration between the site team and its partners. According to the site restructuring plan announced in January 2025, the Jarrie site will focus its business on three strategic product lines: hydrogen peroxide, chlorates and perchlorates. New projects will also be launched successively between 2026 and 2027 as part of the site renovation works, to further optimize the on-site hydrogen pipeline network and raw material supply system. The hydrogen peroxide produced at the Jarrie site has a wide range of downstream applications, including pulp and paper manufacturing, the electronics industry, and chemical synthesis intermediates. The plant also produces sodium chlorate and sodium perchlorate, serving water treatment and aerospace sectors, with Ariane Group being its long-term core customer. Mathieu Brisson, plant director of the Jarrie facility, stated: "Hydrogen peroxide is a classic product of the Jarrie site. The inauguration of this hydrogen production unit is a key step in the site's transformation. Going forward, we will continue to advance project implementation, optimize hydrogen supply, and consolidate the site's competitiveness in hydrogen peroxide and chlorate businesses." Arkema advances foam technology with the launch of Foranext(R) Continuum additive. September 23, 2026 at 10:23 AM EDT i This article is third-party content and does not represent the views of this site. Tamar Securities, LLC make no guarantees regarding its accuracy or completeness. Radnor, PA, USA, Sept. 23, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Arkema today announced the launch of Foranext(R) Continuum, a new low-viscosity additive designed for rigid polyurethane foam formulations containing Forane(R) Foam Blowing Agent (FBA) 1233zd. Developed to maintain foam formulation consistency over time, Foranext(R) Continuum supports manufacturers in their transition to low-global-warming-potential (GWP) foam technologies. As demand continues to grow for energy-efficient building, appliance, and thermal management solutions, manufacturers are increasingly focused on developing high-performance polyurethane foam systems. Designed for use with Forane(R) FBA 1233zd, the new Foranext(R) Continuum additive helps improve B-side shelf stability while supporting optimized formulation performance throughout the material lifecycle. Available for insulation, roofing, appliance, and other rigid foam applications, it further expands Arkema's portfolio of solutions for the polyurethane foam industry. "As customers continue to advance their transition to HFO-based technologies, they are looking for solutions that deliver value beyond the blowing agent itself," said Frédéric Gauvard, Group President, Fluorogases at Arkema. "Foranext(R) Continuum additive reflects our commitment to helping customers improve formulation consistency and enhance operational efficiency." The launch builds on Arkema's continued investment in HFO technology and supply reliability, including the recent startup of its new 15-kiloton Forane(R) 1233zd production unit in Calvert City, Kentucky. Together, Forane(R) FBA 1233zd and Foranext(R) Continuum provide manufacturers with complementary technologies designed to support both sustainability objectives and high-performance foam formulations. Foranext(R) Continuum is available globally through Arkema's fluorochemicals business.
