Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 10 years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control, and estimating is required.
  • Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines.
  • Understanding of customer deliverable expectations and preferences.
  • Ability to set priorities.
  • Ability to discuss and correspond effectively with engineering disciplines and contractors to obtain pertinent information concerning schedules, scopes of work, estimates, and project costs.
  • Knowledge of other disciplines' deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for producing project controls deliverables.
  • Ability to develop a construction cost estimate, detailed engineering schedule, and man-hour budget for a small project or an area of a larger project.
  • Ability to determine construction material quantities.
  • Experience estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work.
  • Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Timberline Estimating, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop schedules and analyses for contract packages to forecast construction activities and identify coordination issues where safety and schedule may conflict.
  • Develop, monitor, and update schedules using updates obtained through meetings, construction coordination interviews, and field verification.
  • Apply a comprehensive understanding of Earned Value and Project Productivity.
  • Monitor and maintain the change notice and change order management system.
  • Assist in facilitating weekly change notice hearings and change committee meetings.
  • Develop estimates for construction projects, including estimates associated with change notices.
  • Develop and maintain the cost system by reconciling commitments, change orders, and contractor invoices, and producing cost reports.
  • Establish a progressive system for projects while developing, monitoring, and updating schedules.
  • Assist clients and teammates in developing construction and contract strategies for project constructability as it relates to logistics and safety.
  • Assist with quantity analysis for activity durations and estimating purposes.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science, or a related field.
  • A certification from AACE International or the Project Management Institute.
