Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience in applied data science, machine learning, or applied AI, with repeated delivery of production systems that moved a named business metric.
  • Ownership of AI and machine learning system architecture, including serving, retrieval, evaluation, guardrails, and the operational loop around models.
  • Deep experience with current large language model and agent technology, including evaluation, failure analysis, and choosing deterministic approaches when appropriate.
  • Experience with machine learning operations, including versioning, continuous integration and deployment for models and prompts, monitoring, drift detection, and rollback.
  • Portfolio-level ownership of prioritizing competing AI opportunities and building execution paths.
  • At least 18 months of heavy daily use of AI-native engineering workflows across design, coding, debugging, and review, with judgment about verification and trust.
  • Experience setting model governance, monitoring, and responsible AI standards for a team.
  • Working implementation proficiency across at least two cloud or technical ecosystems, such as AWS and GCP.
  • A strong quantitative foundation in experimentation, statistical reasoning, and causal thinking.
  • Ability to align product, engineering, and operations stakeholders on sequencing and trade-offs in ambiguous situations.
Responsibilities
  • Design the machine learning and agentic architecture end to end, including model hosting and serving, prompt and model versioning, retrieval and embeddings, agent tooling, guardrails, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Choose between deterministic, large language model, and agent-based approaches by evaluating trade-offs across accuracy, latency, cost, and reliability.
  • Build evaluations that connect offline and online quality to business outcomes and risk controls.
  • Own the full lifecycle of models and prompts, including experimentation, versioning, continuous integration and deployment, monitoring, drift detection, rollback, and incident readiness.
  • Define rollout strategies and likely failure modes before launch.
  • Build safety guardrails, hallucination mitigation, bias testing, and sensitive-data handling into AI system designs.
  • Specify AI-ready training and retrieval data, labeling, feature availability, and vector or search infrastructure requirements.
  • Work with data engineering and platform teams to implement governed infrastructure for AI systems.
  • Turn ambiguous goals into technical bets with clear hypotheses and success criteria.
  • Own a portfolio of AI opportunities by identifying high-leverage opportunities, sequencing them, and building execution paths.
  • Advise product and engineering leadership on feasibility, cost, risk, and expected return.
  • Set reusable architecture and delivery patterns for other teams.
  • Mentor experienced individual contributors on applied AI execution and production quality.
  • Develop predictive ordering models within organizational, budget, catalog, vendor-contract, and substitution constraints.
  • Develop agentic copilots embedded in product workflows, including tool design, retrieval quality, guardrails, and human handoff.
  • Build evaluation and operations capabilities that distinguish offline model performance from business impact.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with retrieval systems, vector search, ranking, recommendation, or production personalization.
  • Experience with self-hosted or local AI infrastructure, including self-managed agent environments.
  • Experience in e-commerce, business-to-business procurement, vendor management, financial products, or heavy integration with external systems.

Order.co provides a digital platform that centralizes and streamlines procurement for enterprises, helping organizations manage purchasing across the full procurement lifecycle. The product integrates requests, approvals, supplier catalogs, purchase orders, spend tracking, and reporting, typically syncing with ERP or finance systems so users route approvals, order goods or services, receive invoices, and analyze spend in one place. It differentiates itself by offering end-to-end control and visibility in a single system for requisitions, supplier management, and analytics, which enforces company policies and reduces shadow procurement. Goal: help enterprises save time, cut unnecessary spend, and improve transparency and governance over purchasing processes.

Aligning Finance And Procurement – Phase 4: Leveraging Technology To Bridge The Finance–Procurement Gap

Finance and procurement play critical roles in shaping an organization’s financial health and operational efficiency. This series shapes a five-phase approach to aligning finance and procurement.Using technology to bridge the Finance-Procurement gapOnce a well-defined technology adoption strategy is established in the ‘collaboration’ phase, organizations can move to the next step: leveraging technology to bridge the finance-procurement gap.Technology is a powerful enabler of finance-procurement collaboration, bridging gaps in spend visibility, cost control and data integration. Without the right tools, procurement’s contributions to financial strategy can remain disconnected from budgeting, forecasting and risk management.By leveraging automation, AI-driven analytics and integrated source-to-pay (S2P) solutions, organizations can streamline workflows, improve financial accuracy and enhance procurement’s role in decision making. The following sections explore how technology enables better finance-procurement integration, the key considerations for selecting the right solutions and how digital transformation drives efficiency, compliance and long-term financial impact. The importance of integrating procurement and finance systemsA major challenge for organizations is siloed procurement and financial systems which separately manage critical processes, such as spend tracking, budget planning and supplier risk assessment. Without integration, finance teams struggle to track procurement-driven savings, while procurement lacks visibility into financial planning and liquidity management. To resolve this, companies need to do the following:1. Ensure procurement data is linked to financial dashboards
