Labs Incubator Intern - 2024-2025 Academic Year
Key Role Details
This is a paid internship that is part time, requiring 15-20 hours per week.
Participation in the internship requires that you are located in the continental United States with in-person attendance at your assigned location, in accordance with Capital One’s hybrid working model, for the duration of the program.
Basic Qualifications
Current student of, and will be actively enrolled in the same course of study through the full duration of the program at the University of Maryland, College Park; University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher with an expectation that you will complete your most recent full-time degree program by August 2025 or earlier
At least 1 year of experience with Python
Preferred Qualifications
Currently earning a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field of study
At least 1 year of experience with machine learning and various subfields (deep learning, Graph ML, NLP, explainability, etc.)
At least 1 year of experience with relational databases
At least 1 year of experience with large scale data analytics
At least 1 year of experience with AWS
Demonstrated experience in contributing to open source projects and proficient use of Git/GitHub
Strong understanding of version control and collaborative development practices

Projects mostly focus on building leading edge ML platforms and products, where the work involves a variety of modern software engineering practices like large scale data engineering and analytics, libraries and tooling, MLOps, CI/CD, and open source, among others.
