Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience in security, law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical service, behavioral health, counseling, education, or military service are required; a bachelor's degree or other relevant certifications may substitute for the required work experience.
  • Must obtain and maintain International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety certification within the first year of employment.
  • Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license.
  • Must be able to communicate tactfully and clearly with the general public.
  • Must be able to perform the listed physical demands, including continuous standing, sitting, walking, indoor work, and bending; frequent work from elevated areas or in confined spaces, twisting, squatting, reaching, and exerting up to 50 pounds of force; and occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Must maintain corrected vision of 20/40 and meet the stated vision, hearing, tactile, and coordination requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and provide protection and security for facilities, premises, employees, patients, and visitors.
  • Perform routine and repetitive duties according to the standards and practices established by the Manager of Hospital Security.
