Requirements

  • Experience designing and building custom dashboards for resource monitoring and performance tracking.
  • Expertise in logging and telemetry frameworks and in setting up proactive alerting.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, and tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to design scalable cloud architectures and optimise them for performance and cost.
  • Strong problem-solving skills focused on proactive and preventative solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to mentor engineers and advise leadership.
  • Ability to work remotely while aligning with UK business hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM GMT/BST.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement robust Role-Based Access Control policies across the Azure environment.
  • Set up and manage users, groups, and service principals to ensure secure, least-privilege access to Azure resources.
  • Build dashboards to monitor the performance, utilisation, and health of Azure resources and provide actionable insights to the engineering team.
  • Implement centralised logging and telemetry solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and related tooling.
  • Set up proactive alerting to detect and resolve potential issues before they affect users.
  • Architect and implement scalable infrastructure for increasing platform workloads.
  • Optimise infrastructure and application performance for reliability and responsiveness.
  • Analyse resource utilisation, identify waste, and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure cost-efficient deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management of Azure resources.
  • Own and improve continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, containerisation, and deployment automation.
  • Establish infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent tooling.
  • Enforce security best practices across all environments.
  • Establish and promote Azure infrastructure and DevOps best practices across the engineering team.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship on cloud architecture, security, and operational excellence.
  • Take ownership of the Azure cloud infrastructure and longer-term cloud strategy as the platform grows.
Desired Qualifications
  • Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Terraform.
