About the Job

Requirements

  • 15+ years of process engineering experience shipping complex, high-speed electronic products at volume, such as network switches, servers, storage, telecom, or similarly demanding consumer or industrial systems.
  • Deep hands-on SMT expertise, including developing reflow profiles for very large BGAs, debugging warpage with thermal imaging, tuning stencil apertures and solder paste, and making yield decisions from borderline X-ray images.
  • Mechanical assembly depth, including strong intuition for tolerances, torque, fastener strategy, and field failures; comfort participating in CAD reviews.
  • Quality discipline and fluency in PFMEA, 8D, SPC, FAI/PPAP, ISO 9001, IPC-A-610 Class 3, and J-STD-001.
  • Hands-on CM experience running NPI and sustaining at top-tier CMs/ODMs or equivalent, with knowledge of SMT lines, manufacturing integration, and quality teams.
  • Ability to investigate failures involving silicon packaging, optics, signal integrity, firmware, or thermal systems, surface root causes, and involve the appropriate specialists.
  • Ability to write clear 8D reports in English, present yield data to senior leadership, and run build reviews using Vietnamese-English-Mandarin code-switching.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end SMT process development for large, complex PCBAs, including stencil design, solder paste selection and rheology, solder paste inspection, placement, reflow profile development, automated optical inspection and X-ray inspection, and rework.
  • Optimize reflow for very large BGAs, FCBGA, LGA, and OAM-style packages, managing warpage, head-in-pillow, non-wet open, voiding, and solder joint reliability.
  • Manage mixed-technology assembly involving press-fit connectors, fine-pitch QFN, 0201/01005 passives, RF shielding, and high-pin-count optical cages.
  • Drive design for manufacturability and design for assembly reviews with the design team before board tape-out.
  • Own box-build and chassis-level assembly processes, including heatsink and cold-plate installation, torque specifications, fastener strategy, gasketing, EMI/RFI shielding, cable routing, and serviceability.
  • Integrate liquid-cooling manufacturing processes for cold plates, manifolds, quick-disconnects, leak testing, and dry-break procedures.
  • Design or oversee fixture and tooling for assembly, test, and rework, with clear acceptance criteria and capacity models.
  • Read mechanical drawings, challenge stack-ups, and resolve fit-and-finish issues on the production line using GD&T knowledge.
  • Own PFMEA, control plans, and work instructions for every product family and maintain them as processes evolve.
  • Drive first article inspection, PPAP-style qualification, and pilot-to-mass-production transitions.
  • Conduct 8D and root-cause investigations into line escapes, NPI fallout, and RMA returns, and feed findings back into design and process improvements.
  • Establish and tune SPC, yield, and DPMO dashboards, and conduct regular yield walks.
  • Enforce workmanship standards including IPC-A-610 Class 3, J-STD-001, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 with contract manufacturer operators, line leaders, and quality teams.
  • Own manufacturing readiness from EVT through DVT, PVT, and mass production; track open risks, mitigation actions, and closure timing.
  • Partner with electrical, signal integrity/power integrity, mechanical, thermal, test, reliability, and supply chain teams, translating design intent into manufacturable processes that achieve yield.
  • Manage day-to-day CM/ODM relationships in Bac Ninh, run build reviews, drive yield-improvement plans, audit process discipline, and escalate issues as needed.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience bringing up 51.2T- or 102.4T-class Ethernet switches, or large AI server/accelerator platforms such as HGX/MGX-class or OAM/UBB.
  • Hands-on liquid-cooling manufacturing experience with cold plates, manifolds, or in-rack CDUs.
  • Optical module qualification and integration at 400G, 800G, or 1.6T, including QSFP-DD, OSFP, OSFP-XD, LPO/LRO, or CPO awareness.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing, or equivalent formal training applied in practice.
  • Familiarity with hyperscaler/OCP quality expectations and audit processes.
  • Working proficiency in Vietnamese and/or Mandarin in addition to English.
