Requirements
  • An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology is required.
  • A Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist–Computed Tomography license, or a Radiologic/Nuclear Medicine Computed Tomography registration, is required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate 1 and Basic Life Support Certificate 2 are required.
  • One to three years of related work experience is required.
  • New hires must provide American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 30 days.
  • Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access, is required.
  • Ability to make decisions guided by precedents, policies, and objectives, and to make recommendations on issues affecting a department or functional area.

  • Ability to perform very heavy work, exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds continually, and remain physically active in all elements of the job.
  • Staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients for CT scans of various body parts, including setting up the equipment and patient relative to each other to best demonstrate the body part being studied.
  • Enter scan procedure instructions into the terminal, monitor scan performance for accurate and complete data output, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Evaluate scan results for quality and completeness, display images for physicians, and select image display options using the terminal.
  • Provide research support to radiologists by performing research studies.
  • Perform quality assurance tests on equipment.
  • Respond to patients' physical and psychological needs; explain procedures clearly and concisely to avoid unnecessary anxiety; perform proper hand hygiene before and after patient contact; observe patients' conditions and report changes to a nurse or physician.
  • Maintain accurate and complete procedure records and required scanning statistics, including entries into the computer as required by the Department of Public Health.
  • Ensure exams are networked to appropriate locations, including PACS, AW, or Vitrea workstations, and verify successful transmission.
  • Maintain daily room checklists, code cart compliance checks, and monthly inventory checks for expired products.
  • Report incidents affecting patient care in the online CCC incident reporting system.
  • Edit computer entries for accurate descriptions, billing charges, contrast usage and reactions, and patient scan in/out times.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
