Requirements
  • Construction and/or real estate auditing experience is desired.
  • A master's degree in accounting or finance, or a bachelor's degree with the required hours to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam, is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in a relevant position or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Knowledge of audit standard concepts, practices, and procedures is required.
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines is required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of firm and client information is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written means is required.
  • Aptitude to learn and effectively use multiple software applications is required.
  • Ability to apply accounting principles to analyze and prepare financial information is required.
  • Organizational skills and sound judgment when interacting with colleagues, supervisors, and clients are required.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare audit workpapers and conduct audit research as needed.
  • Prepare detailed accounting and statistical functions relating to auditing.
  • Manage responsibilities on audit engagements.
  • Use reference materials to research auditing issues.
  • Develop an understanding of the audit client's industry and marketplace.
  • Use technology to learn, share knowledge with audit team members, and enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate time and expense records to ensure proper client billing.
  • Comply with relevant continuing professional education requirements of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, State Board of Accountancy, Governmental Accounting Standards, and the firm.
  • Work closely with principals, managers, and staff to integrate practice development skills into a team approach to client service and new business development.
  • Maintain client service relationships and cross-sell services as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the technical aspects of the job, including necessary systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge through written and verbal communication and continuously develop communication skills.
  • Build knowledge of the firm's industry lines and service offerings.
  • Promote the firm's ideas, values, mission, vision, and one-firm concept.
  • Seek knowledge, new tasks, and responsibilities proactively.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Work additional hours and occasionally travel overnight out of town.
