Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize physical spaces and equipment.
  • Move products into and out of production as required, following Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points procedures.
  • Assist with food-preparation duties.
  • Clean and sanitize the potwashing and dish area, walls, floors, and counters.
  • Fill, empty, operate, and perform regular maintenance on pot-washing machines, or manually wash pots as required.
  • Monitor and record temperatures and sanitizer concentration in manual wash sinks and machines to ensure safe operation.
  • Return all cleaned equipment and utensils to the point of service.
  • Launder, fold, and distribute uniforms, towels, tablecloths, and napkins.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laundry area.
  • Operate washing machines and dryers according to instructions.
  • Keep laundry equipment clean and in good order.
  • Leave the workstation clean and restocked.
  • Recycle products according to policy and procedure.
  • Accurately complete sanitation and temperature logs and food-service records as required, and inform the person in charge when corrective action is needed.
  • Follow sanitation standards in compliance with regulatory agencies, including Harvard Environmental Health and Safety regulations.
  • Comply with the State of Massachusetts and Dining Services' Food Employee Illness Policy.
  • Represent Harvard University Dining Services to students, faculty, staff, and guests in a positive and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a university environment preferred.
