Requirements
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Electronics or Computer Science.
  • At least 8 years of experience in high-performance digital design.
  • Comprehensive experience with RTL design, implementation, and verification for FPGA or ASIC.
  • A high-level understanding of digital and analogue electronic circuit design.
  • Experience with high-performance communication protocols such as Ethernet, PCI, and SerDes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of hardware and printed circuit board design and implementation, including schematics, layout, testing, and debugging.
  • A thorough understanding of and experience with common laboratory-based test and analysis equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously, set priorities, and deliver to schedule.
  • Competency in scripting languages including Python, Tcl, and Shell.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and integrate FPGA subsystems within the quantum computer control framework.
  • Help build control systems for quantum computers.
  • Lead the integration and debugging of FPGA-based subsystems within the quantum computer control framework.
  • Implement RTL-level designs for blocks, subsystems, and FPGAs from high-level requirements.
  • Own block, subsystem, and FPGA-level specifications and architecture.
  • Generate comprehensive documentation for design, verification, and integration.
  • Develop a proficient understanding of quantum computing control systems and concepts.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary collaborative projects involving ASIC, mechanical, software, electronics, and physics disciplines.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience with both FPGA and ASIC design flows.
  • System-level design and architecture experience.
  • An understanding of or previous experience with high-performance digital signal processing.
  • Previous experience in embedded software or embedded systems design.
  • In-depth experience in printed circuit board design.
  • A background in Physics, including quantum technologies.
