About the job
- Prior experience as a Direct Support Professional, Behavioral Health Technician, or caregiver working with complex behavioral needs or intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
- A cellphone with internet access is required.
- Strong communication, active listening, and conflict de-escalation skills are required.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and provide proof of vaccination as required.
- Implement customized care plans, apply de-escalation techniques, and provide structured behavioral support.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and transferring.
- Build rapport, foster a calm environment, and engage clients through meaningful activities and social interactions.
- Monitor client behavior and physical health, document changes, and communicate with the care team and family members.
- Provide medication reminders, assist with light housekeeping, prepare balanced meals, and safely transport clients to appointments or outings.
- Prior experience as a Direct Support Professional, Behavioral Health Technician, or caregiver working with complex behavioral needs or intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- CNA, HHA, CPR, First Aid, or AED certification; these are preferred but not required.
- Prior dementia care experience; candidates with this experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
