Requirements
  • 6-8 years in Software as a Service, ideally Business-to-Business Small and Medium-Sized Businesses, with real experience in pricing, packaging, and billing.
  • Experience actively owning monetization work and shipping experiments, including responsibility for pricing, packaging, and billing.
  • Demonstrated use of artificial intelligence to move faster and smarter, including ability to write scripts, build scrappy prototypes, and orchestrate agents to ship and learn.
  • Deep familiarity with usage-based billing, including systems where customer cost is tied to consumption (tokens, API calls, AI credits, transactions); bonus points for standing up a credit system from scratch or migrating from pure subscription to a hybrid model.
  • Opinionated about AI monetization, with experience reasoning about credit systems, token-based pricing, and pricing capabilities with variable inference costs; understanding that AI entails real costs such as inference and compute and should influence pricing and product behavior.
  • Detail-oriented across strategy and infrastructure, able to discuss pricing points with leadership and handle technical edge cases in billing systems.
  • Clarity-definer, not a clarity seeker; comfortable with ambiguity and turning it into actionable plans.
  • Naturally cross-functional; able to build trust across EPD, marketing, finance, sales, support, CS, and external vendors; able to engage with senior leadership.
Responsibilities
  • Own the four components of monetization: pricing, packaging, billing, and placement, including strategy and execution.
  • Move free-to-paid conversion as the primary owned metric; build the experiment roadmap, ship tests, and provide honest assessments of results.
  • Define and iterate on the AI credit system; determine how credits are bought, consumed, displayed, refilled, and tied to plans.
  • Push pricing and packaging into the next chapter, including freemium concepts, plan structure reshaping, and packaging AI alongside core product.
  • Partner with engineering on the billing system, including Stripe, legacy code, and integrations; be in the implementation work.
  • Run rigorous experiments with crisp hypotheses, sound instrumentation, and clear result interpretation.
  • Act as the connective tissue between Engineering, Product Development, and GTM; coordinate with Finance, Marketing, Sales, Support to align on shipping and positioning.
  • Contribute to the North Star metric of increasing paid customers from 11,000 to 20,000 by end of 2027; monitor ARPC, new Monthly Recurring Revenue, churn, AI credit revenue, and usage revenue.
