What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

• Build and manage the Bodyshop Maintenance Team
• Create a safety culture and apply and implement workplace policies
• Implement corporate policies, safety, and good housekeeping practices
• Manage maintenance activities in Bodyshop
• Lead and coach maintenance personnel in all aspects of asset management including but not limited to; asset availability (mean time to repair (MTTR), mean time between failure (MTBF), cycle time, preventative maintenance, predictive and condition-based monitoring technologies)
• Maintain the ongoing production process equipment in the body shop including on-time maintenance + inspection and repair for the body shop equipment
• Evaluate team member performance and encourage continuous improvement
• Lead the maintenance and repair of bodyshop equipment and maintenance personnel
• Frequent collaboration with others outside of the work group
• Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment
• Lead in the selection of new salaried maintenance employees
• Train, develop, and evaluate salaried maintenance supervisors
• Establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project, and have a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with the highest level of autonomy and accountability for results
• Validated ability in project management skills and the ability to teach others and show desire and ability to manage/coach performance of direct reports
• Have a deep knowledge and ability to implement Scout principles
• Responsibility and control of the mechanical and electrical processes in bodyshop, considering the number of units, budget, personnel specifications, occupational safety and quality
• Monitor compliance with guidelines and regulations, such as work regulations, occupational health, and safety regulations

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. The role will be based out of a Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role may require the ability to travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. 

What you’ll bring

• 7+ years of professional experience in automotive production, with expertise in achieving stable production processes and in-depth knowledge of Maintenance operations.
• 5+ years of progressive experience building and managing Bodyshop teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
• Strong technical skills in networking, hardware, and software systems
• Ability to understand PLC logic, Robotic programming, and mechanical assembly and disassembly of complex stations and assemblies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $145,000 - $175,000
