Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree in Reliability Engineering or a related field is a plus.
  • 12+ years of experience in hardware reliability engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in the consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace is highly desirable
  • Hands-on experience with various reliability testing equipment and data analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in reliability engineering methodologies such as FMEA, FTA, and Weibull analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in SQL, MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages for data analysis and test scripting.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the full scope of hardware reliability engineering at Wing, from designing and executing test plans, to conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Analyze data, identify failure trends, and collaborate with design engineers to improve product reliability.
  • Develop and implement the strategic plan for expanding hardware reliability at Wing, as well as lead & manage a team of reliability engineers, failure analysis engineers, and technicians.
  • Develop and execute test plans for new and existing hardware, including environmental testing, stress testing, accelerated life testing, and Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT).
  • Define and implement reliability test standards and procedures.
  • Analyze test data, identify failure modes, and generate comprehensive reliability reports.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to improve product reliability based on test results and failure analysis.
  • Conduct thorough failure analysis of hardware components and systems.
  • Scope & triage failure analysis work needed at Wing, deciding where to build internal capabilities or vet 3rd party support.
  • Develop corrective actions and preventive measures to address identified failure modes.
  • Apply reliability engineering principles and methodologies (FMEA, FTA, Weibull analysis) to assess and predict hardware component reliability, working closely with systems engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to implement design for reliability (DfR) principles.
  • Develop and manage ORT programs to continuously monitor product reliability.
  • Support the operational analysis team to collect and analyze field data, identify trends, implement corrective actions, and provide input into design changes to improve reliability.
  • Lead and mentor a team of reliability engineers, failure analysis engineers, and technicians.
  • Grow the team, including identifying and hiring new team members to fulfill needed skills.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and promote knowledge sharing.
