Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Lead the off-shift quality department in maintaining all programs at a high food safety level for compliance.
  • Support planning, defining, and directing the site auditing control program to ensure compliance with procedures, policies, Good Manufacturing Practices standards, Kraft Heinz requirements, and regulatory, federal, and local laws.
  • Perform assignments in accordance with 5S, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Support the Kraft Heinz Management System and operational standards outlined in the plant accountability list.
  • Train, mentor, and lead off-shift Quality, Maintenance, Materials, and Production team members to ensure quality program goals are met.
  • Support the site Kraft Heinz Management System and International Organization for Standardization coordinator.
  • Monitor and maintain the plant Kraft Heinz Management System program in compliance with current Kraft Heinz and international audit standards, including Food Safety System Certification 22000 and International Organization for Standardization standards.
  • Facilitate and co-lead the site cross-functional quality team and participate with Kraft Heinz corporate to ensure successful site certifications.
  • Ensure all specification, key performance indicator, Kraft Heinz Management System, Food Safety System Certification 22000, International Organization for Standardization, and Golden Rules plans are maintained and executed.
  • Support internal and external inspections and regulatory visits; lead off-shift audit preparation activities, accompany inspectors, and complete necessary reports.
  • Lead follow-ups to nonconformances identified during the off shift and provide appropriate responses for off-shift risks.
  • Review and approve minor change requests.
  • Monitor weekly sanitation records for compliance and follow up to ensure adherence to programs and established limits for food safety.
  • Complete the Sanitation Positive Release Standard.
  • Lead plant sanitation improvement, automation, and expansion projects.
  • Direct and report on overall plant sanitation programs, including PSS, RSS, PIC/PEC, expansion, and extended runs.
  • Direct sanitation environmental control programs, including clean-equipment swabs, environmental monitoring, and pathogen testing.
  • Coordinate and conduct full sanitation audits, including equipment teardowns, to ensure the effectiveness of equipment-cleaning procedures.
  • Perform assignments in accordance with established Good Manufacturing Practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Support compliance with hold/release documentation and product dispositioning.
  • Complete and lead validation studies for all Critical Control Points, Operational Prerequisite Programs, and other significant controls in accordance with approved methodologies.
  • Maintain Quality Suite to track and trend quality-check data and create new projects as needed.
  • Perform net-content calculation analysis for new stock-keeping units to meet National Institute of Standards and Technology requirements or retarget current stock-keeping units.
  • Ensure compliance with Golden Rules and other quality principles through routine auditing, reporting, and appropriate compliance trending.
  • Provide off-shift expertise and support other shifts while participating in equipment commissioning and startup, ensuring applicable quality and food safety procedures are standardized and identifying gaps for future corrective actions.
  • Adhere to approved change-control procedures, including reviewing partial Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points plans and issuing Agile change requests as needed.
  • Serve as the point of contact for meetings affecting the third shift.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a quality, production, or sanitation department within the food industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership position in a food manufacturing facility.
  • A strong understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points principles, food safety regulations, quality system management systems, sanitation run rules, production processes, and the Kraft Heinz Management System framework, if applicable.
  • Strong leadership, technical, communication, delegation, and organizational skills, along with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Agile, and matrix databases.

Kettle Cuisine taps former Kraft Heinz exec as CEO. 08.27.2026 LYNN, MASS. - Kettle Cuisine, a manufacturer of fresh prepared foods including refrigerated and frozen soups, broths, sauces, sides and entrees across retail and foodservice customers, has named Peter Hall as chief executive officer. Hall succeeds Liam McClennon, who recently retired from the CEO position after nearly 11 years with the company. Hall comes to the company from Kraft Heinz, where he recently was president the North American Elevation Business Unit. Hall spent nearly 11 years at Kraft Heinz, holding various leadership positions and overseeing such brands as Heinz, Kraft and Philadelphia. "Peter is the right leader to guide Kettle Cuisine through its next phase of growth," said Nik Thukral, president at L Catterton, an investor in Kettle. "Kettle has longstanding customer relationships, differentiated culinary and manufacturing expertise, and significant opportunity ahead. Peter brings the strategic perspective, consumer orientation, and strong commercial capability to capitalize on those advantages and build on the company's established position. Gates and Buffett both hold Kraft Heinz as new CEO shows turnaround progress

Bill Gates' foundation trust and Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway both held stakes in Kraft Heinz as of the second quarter. Berkshire's position represented 2.6% of its portfolio, whilst the Gates Foundation held approximately $58.4 million worth of shares. New CEO Steve Cahillane has shown signs of progress in his turnaround efforts. The company improved its full-year organic sales guidance and raised free cash flow conversion guidance to approximately 110% from 100%. Free cash flow rose 10% year over year in the recent quarter. Cahillane purchased 213,106 shares worth roughly $5 million in May. However, adjusted operating income fell 18.4% last quarter, driven by higher marketing spend and compensation costs.

Kraft Heinz focuses innovation to address 'unmet' consumer diet needs. Lactose-free Philadelphia cream cheese and clean-label Heinz ketchup could attract consumers previously unable to engage with the food giant's portfolio. Published Aug. 17, 2026 Kraft Heinz is innovating its top brands to win consumers that have been sidelined by dietary restrictions or preferences. Most recently, Kraft Heinz introduced a lactose-free version of Philadelphia cream cheese, a few years after launching a plant-based spread for vegans. It also has debuted a gluten-free offering of Velveeta Shells & Cheese and a plant-based version of its Kraft Mac & Cheese. These innovations come as Kraft Heinz and other food giants respond to growing consumer interest in healthy or in-demand ingredients, in addition to less processed options. Kraft Heinz has also launched offerings that address other trends infiltrating food. It has a Jell-O with no artificial colors or sweeteners, a Kraft Mac & Cheese with extra protein and Heinz Simply, a clean-label version of the popular ketchup using recognizable ingredients. More products are in the works. "We're going to go aggressively attack those trends, making sure that we have the right product for those unmet needs," said Jerome Drolet, Kraft Heinz's new president of taste elevation. Drolet didn't quantify the sales potential, but he called the opportunities "significant" for Kraft Heinz, which posted $25 billion in net sales last year. Similar to its competitors, Kraft Heinz has seen its business struggle as consumers cut back on highly processed food in favor of better-for-you offerings. Inflation has only exacerbated the challenges as shoppers curtail their spending. Organic net sales have declined during the last two years, slipping 3.4% alone in 2025. There are signs of improvement at Kraft Heinz, however, with organic sales down 1.3% during its second quarter ended June 27. The rollout of Philadelphia lactose-free cream cheese provides the latest example of how Kraft Heinz is approaching innovation of its core brands, a key pillar of the company's growth strategy. As many as 50 million U.S. consumers are affected by the digestive condition, according to Kraft Heinz. The company found there weren't other brands on the market that met the needs of lactose-intolerant consumers on a wide enough scale, creating an opportunity for its top-selling Philadelphia cream cheese. The offering, the largest investment the company has made behind a brand innovation in three years, immediately makes Philadelphia accessible to millions of consumers who otherwise wouldn't have purchased it for use in frostings, bagels and other foods. Instead of launching an entirely new brand, Drolet said Kraft Heinz has devoted more attention to innovating its existing products that have already built up trust and recognition among shoppers and retailers. Before entering a space, Kraft Heinz must determine whether the trend will last, which of its brands are best positioned to benefit, and whether the new innovation can reach enough consumers to justify the time and money required to develop and market it. "In the end, we need to deliver for the business," Drolet observed. "What we don't want... is consumers having to compromise, whether it's on price or on taste." While Kraft Heinz is prioritizing speedy innovation, it's not worried if competitors beat the food behemoth to the market. The food manufacturer noted that when it launched gluten-free Mac & Cheese in 2020, it was one of the last to enter the space as the company worked on perfecting the quality and ensuring it tasted like the traditional version of the product. Today, its Mac & Cheese is the top-selling gluten-free brand in the category. The innovation comes as Kraft Heinz's new CEO Steve Cahillane announced plans earlier this month to increase spending to $700 million, up from $600 million. The investment will boost marketing, sales and research and development to improve "product superiority" in hopes of returning the company to growth. So far, it appears the focus on innovation is paying off.
