Requirements
  • At least 4 years of experience as a Journeyman Industrial Electrician, Industrial electrical helper, or Industrial Electrician.
  • Ability to meet the role's physical requirements, including working at heights exceeding 300 feet, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, and working in all weather conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics proficiently.
  • Knowledge and experience working on high-voltage systems and terminating high- and low-voltage equipment and cable or wiring.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory, including Ohm's law.
  • Ability to install and modify cable tray using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to bend and cut conduit using hand saws, hand tube-bending equipment, and power or hydraulic cutting and tube-bending devices.
  • Proficiency in cable-pulling methods for running cable through specified pathways.
  • Ability to use specialized electrical tools, including ohm meters, multimeters, and terminating devices.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge of components used in crude oil refineries.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems for electrical malfunctions.
  • Ability to identify different cable and wire types, gauges, and colors.
  • Knowledge and experience working with a lockout/tagout system.
  • Ability to follow safety regulations and instructions.
  • Availability to work the designated schedule and required overtime with proper notification.
  • Possession of all required tools and reliable transportation.
  • Possession of an Electrical NCCER credential, state electrical license, state electrical apprentice license, or a two-year electrical degree or equivalent.
Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including the locations, quantities, and sizes of required materials.
  • Identify all tools required for assigned tasks.
  • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate them.
  • Cut, bend, and run conduit according to blueprints.
  • Install, modify, and fabricate cable tray according to specifications.
  • Pull cable through specified pathways.
  • Assemble and install electrical equipment.
  • Terminate wires and cable to electrical equipment, including breakers, control panels, and distribution systems.
  • Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings according to specifications.
  • Inspect electrical equipment and components to identify hazards and verify operational condition.
  • Set up and maintain temporary power systems.
  • Install and maintain grounding systems for equipment and structures.
  • Hoist equipment and tools into position using bull rigging or a crane.

Zachry Group awarded Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource's Combined Cycle Generation Project. SAN ANTONIO-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Zachry Group (Zachry) has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource Inc.'s Combined Cycle Generation Project, a major infrastructure project located near Wheatfield, Indiana. The facility will support NiSource's delivery of electricity to a third-party customer and includes two nominal 1,300-megawatt gas-fired combined cycle units in a 2 x 2 x 1 configuration. A subsidiary of NiSource Inc. will own and operate the facility. The EPC contract will be executed by a joint venture between Zachry Group and Quanta Services, Inc. (Quanta). Zachry will lead engineering, procurement, project management, construction planning, and commissioning, drawing on its five decades of experience designing and building over 100 gas-fired facilities totaling more than 60,000 megawatts. Quanta will contribute field-level leadership and craft workforce management through its operating companies. This collaborative approach is designed to enhance execution certainty, optimize labor resources, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality infrastructure.
