Requirements
  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Production.
  • 15 to 20 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aircraft manufacturing.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, digital product definitions, specifications, purchase orders, tooling, and other manufacturing data.
  • Ability to define manufacturing methods, machine requirements, tooling requirements, and quality acceptance requirements from engineering information.
  • Familiarity with sequential assembly process steps, Production Visual Aids, subassembly sequencing, structural component assembly, and conditions of supply.
  • Ability to identify and prepare assembly build stages for complex aircraft structural assemblies.
  • Basic knowledge of surface-treatment and heat-treatment processes used to fabricate components.
  • Basic knowledge of measuring instruments used for dimensional inspection of fabricated parts.
  • Ability to provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly, improve manufacturing techniques, and troubleshoot shop-floor fabrication solutions.
  • Familiarity with quality systems applicable to manufacturing organizations, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ability to create detailed fabrication planning sheets and guides with specific instructions for shop-floor fabrication.
  • Ability to assess project requirements, manage project activities, identify milestones, and lead and guide a team.
  • Ability to analyze products and recommend modifications and improvements.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication standards and specifications, outside processing, and material packaging, shipping, and transportation processes.
  • Knowledge of documentation-control processes, planning, and implementation.
  • Ability to maintain documentation and data supporting customer quality requirements.
  • Fluency in reading and writing French.
Responsibilities
  • Provide core technical support to manufacturing and assembly.
  • Improve manufacturing techniques and troubleshoot fabrication solutions on the shop floor.
  • Train existing and new employees in fabrication planning and procedures.
  • Assess project requirements, lead and guide the team, manage project activities, and identify milestones.
  • Analyze products and make recommendations for modifications and improvements.
  • Maintain documentation and data to ensure customer quality requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Aircraft manufacturing experience, including familiarity with fuselage and cockpit assemblies.
  • Knowledge of application tools such as SAP, CATIA V5, and 3DVIA.
