Requirements
  • A doctorate degree, or a master's degree with at least three years of Medical Affairs experience, or a bachelor's degree with at least five years of Medical Affairs experience.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the field-based medical expert for the assigned territory within the Medical Science Liaison group.
  • Communicate accurate, clear, and valued information about company science and products to the medical community and report field observations to internal stakeholders.
  • Support the Scientific Engagement Plan in developing local territory research and development tactics.
  • Engage and educate healthcare stakeholders, including advanced practice providers, fellows, and residents, using clinical and scientific data.
  • Educate payers, providers, key stakeholders, advocacy groups, and access enablers about clinical value, outcomes, and economic data.
  • Provide clinical and pharmacoeconomic support to payers, integrated delivery networks, and formulary committees, and provide feedback on customer trends, reimbursement, and payer policy.
  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries in accordance with Medical Science Liaison compliance standards.
  • Provide field observations and insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Execute the scientific engagement plan according to annual Medical Science Liaison goals and metrics.
  • Develop and implement local opinion-leader plans in line with the Scientific Engagement Plan.
  • Support speaker training and ensure speakers are updated on new data.
  • Support company-sponsored research and potentially serve as a study lead.
  • Liaise with potential investigators in non-sponsored clinical research and facilitate investigator-initiated preclinical and clinical research proposals.
  • Lead or participate in project teams supporting Medical Science Liaison strategies and tactics.
  • Lead and support congress activities aligned with strategy and potentially serve as congress lead.
  • Collaborate compliantly with cross-functional colleagues and potentially serve as the main point of contact.
  • Maintain clinical expertise and potentially serve as a training lead, new-hire mentor, or international Medical Science Liaison mentor and trainer.
  • Advance the Medical Science Liaison value proposition, identify gaps, achieve results, and demonstrate company values and leadership attributes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., D.O., or another doctoral degree.
  • Two years of industry experience in Scientific or Medical Affairs at a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
  • Experience with managed-market, payer, or integrated delivery network engagement.
  • At least two years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research, including postdoctoral training, residencies, or fellowships.
  • Expertise in osteoporosis and the bone-health therapeutic area.

Amgen and AstraZeneca lung cancer drug combo meets survival goal in phase III study
