Hadrian — Manufacturing the Future
Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies make rockets, jets, and satellites 10x faster and 2x cheaper. Our CEO, Chris Power, discusses the importance of what we’re building in
this video.
We are a lean but mighty team (and growing!) people that are passionate about building critical infrastructure to support the nation and the advancement of humanity.
To support our ambitious vision, we have raised > $200M from Lux Capital, A16Z, Founders Fund, Construct Capital, Caffeinated Capital, and more.
Building Copilot
Copilot is our suite of CAD/CAM automation software that is responsible for automating Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis, CAM programming, and CMM programming. We work with some of the best operators in the world to identify high impact areas to automate and/or automate with software. Our team develops software, manufacturing processes, and machine controls and we integrate with a variety of machines and robotics systems. We are responsible for designing and implementing the solutions cradle to grave. Broadly, this can be any combination of full stack web engineering, applications engineering, computational geometry, and working with a number of engineering centric APIs (documented and undocumented).
In this role you will:
- Work with other engineers, users, and business leaders to design highly technical, flexible, and data-intensive products
- Build user interfaces to navigate complex data parsing and analysis from technical drawings and blueprints
- Design and build abstracted and highly scalable software systems as foundations for future software products
- Design and implement complex data models, networking, data parsing automations, and data analysis automations
- Drive product vision and long term roadmap by taking on responsibility for understanding company goals, team metrics, and systematically improving our overall system health across operations and software
Admired skills/background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or similar
- 2-3 YoE working on data-intensive and complex applications
- Demonstrated interest in mechanical engineering or manufacturing through education, extracurricular activities, personal projects, etc.
- React & Typescript experience
- State management experience in either Zustand, Redux, or similar
- Experience designing and building complex software systems from scratch
- Networking and API design experience (REST & gRPC)
- Experience working in a microservices system architecture
This might be a good fit if:
- You’ve designed and maintained large scale software systems
- You know how to tackle a large problem by breaking it apart into more complex systems across frontend and (P2 backend)
- You know how to research, establish, and maintain healthy code structures and practices in code bases, especially as other engineers enter into it alongside you
- You enjoy talking directly to users and business leaders and demoing intermediate progress of your work to them
- You want to understand how to solve what really matters for your users and care that they enjoy working with the products you build
- You like writing high quality code in a strongly typed language
- You enjoy structuring a complex solution into simple, easily digestible building blocks and are as excited to write high quality code as to have something working
Compensation and Benefits
For this role, the target salary range is $150,000 - $225,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
In addition to salary and equity, we offer:
• 100% coverage of platinum medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees
• 401k
• Relocation stipend if you’re moving from outside of LA
• Flexible vacation policy
