Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least six months of clerical experience is required, or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • A valid Virginia driver's license is required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate department-wide training programs, including mandatory, annual, specialized, and professional development training.
  • Maintain comprehensive training records and monitor employee compliance with required certifications and training standards.
  • Schedule instructors, facilities, equipment, travel arrangements, and other training needs.
  • Process and maintain accurate payroll information for department personnel working various shifts, irregular hours, overtime, leave, court time, and other applicable payroll-related entries.
  • Maintain payroll supporting documentation and ensure payroll information is submitted within established deadlines.
  • Serve as a primary resource for personnel and communicate professionally with internal and external parties.
  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling personnel, payroll, and other sensitive matters.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Police Department by completing administrative tasks, monitoring workflow, and maintaining official law enforcement records.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of experience in training coordination and/or payroll, or a closely related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
