  • At least 2 years of experience working in a hardware testing environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in hardware compliance, EMC/EMI testing, or hardware validation.
  • Experience developing and executing comprehensive EMC/EMI test plans, including radiated and conducted emissions, immunity, and ESD.
  • Experience with hardware bring-up and troubleshooting, including root-cause analysis of compliance failures and practical design mitigations such as shielding, grounding, and PCB layout processing.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute full test plans covering radiated and conducted emissions, immunity, and ESD for NPI hardware in internal and external labs.
  • Lead offline bring-up for EUTs, coordinating with firmware and lab teams to deploy custom workloads for off-network validation.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on compliance failures and provide actionable design recommendations involving shielding, layout, and grounding.
  • Drive EMC/ESD qualification for sensitive high-speed components, such as optical modules, as a critical release gate.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert to ensure compliance-by-design, expand lab capabilities, and author SOPs.
  • Ensure complex hardware systems comply with global EMC and RF standards throughout the hardware development lifecycle, from early engineering verification through formal certification and sustaining.
  • Prepare equipment under test, execute test plans, launch specialized offline workloads, and conduct root-cause failure analysis to recommend design mitigations.
  • Contribute to process automation, component qualification, and cross-functional work with hardware design, firmware, and external lab teams to meet internal engineering specifications and worldwide regulatory mandates.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field such as Optics, Sensors, or Audio/DSP.
  • At least 4 years of experience conducting standard immunity and emissions compliance tests, including ESD, Surge, and Radiated/Conducted tests, and root-cause failure analysis with practical shielding, filtering, and PCB layout mitigations.
  • Experience operating spectrum analyzers, receivers, generators, and amplifiers, with familiarity with global regulatory frameworks.
  • Knowledge of global EMC/RF regulatory standards and compliance frameworks, including FCC, CE, CISPR, IEC/EN, and KN/KS.
  • Ability to lead technical projects, author SOPs, and execute hardware platform bring-up using various software tools.

About the company

Google runs the world's most used search engine and free services such as YouTube, Android, and Gmail, and it builds the Gemini AI models that work inside them. In 2017, its researchers invented the transformer, the neural network design behind ChatGPT and most other AI chatbots. People use these services without paying, and Google earns most of its money from ads placed beside search results and YouTube videos. Businesses rent computing power and Gemini models through Google Cloud, and Google also sells subscriptions and Pixel phones. Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google in 1998 as Stanford PhD students; it is based in Mountain View, California, United States, and is the main business of parent company Alphabet.

What believers are saying

  • Gemini caught on: its app's monthly users rose from 400 million in May 2025 to 1 billion by August 2026.
  • Cloud work is booked years ahead: Google Cloud had $514 billion of signed contracts still to deliver in June 2026.
  • Stock awards gained value: Alphabet shares rose 44% in the 12 months to October 2026, versus 2% for Microsoft.

What critics are saying

  • Cloud is still third: Google held 15% market share in the June 2026 quarter, behind Amazon's 28% and Microsoft's 20%.
  • AI spending outruns cash: Alphabet spent $44.9 billion on equipment in the June 2026 quarter, more than operations generated.
  • AI leadership is turning over: in August 2026, Demis Hassabis handed off running Google DeepMind, and veteran Jeff Dean left.

What makes Google unique

  • Consumer apps earn most profit: Google Services made $39.5 billion operating profit in the June 2026 quarter, 4.5 times Cloud.
  • Rivals rent its homemade AI chips: Claude maker Anthropic agreed in October 2025 to use up to 1 million TPUs.
  • Android dominates mobile browsing: it had 69% of global mobile web use in September 2026, versus 31% for iPhones.
