Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital administrative role is required.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records is required.
  • The ability to pass a federal Tier 1/Low Risk background investigation is required.
  • U.S. work authorization is required, and the candidate must be able to obtain a VA PIV badge.
Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate calendars for providers and clinics.
  • Track, review, and respond to electronic orders, consults, and other items in the VA electronic medical record.
  • Support the care and treatment of Veterans through accurate and timely administrative processing.
  • Communicate with Veterans, clinical staff, and other departments to resolve scheduling and consult issues.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with VA policies and privacy requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Scheduling experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with VistA/CPRS or Cerner is a plus.
