In this role, you will handle various accounting functions with a primary focus on insurance accounting and the preparation of bordereaux reports, collaborating with global regions and ensuring compliance with industry-specific standards.
Prepare and manage detailed bordereaux reports for submission to underwriters, ensuring accurate reporting of insurance premiums, claims, and other contractual details.
Collaborate with the insurance team to maintain compliance with industry-specific accounting requirements, tracking and reconciling insurance-related transactions.
Support risk management and reinsurance functions by analyzing insurance transactions and preparing related reports.
Prepare general ledger journal entries.
Assist with preparing monthly invoices and monitoring collections.
Process month-end entries, eliminations, and allocations.
Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
Support Accounts Payable function to ensure adequate coverage.
Assist Sales Tax Department with monthly/quarterly filings, as required.
Prepare payroll and benefits entries on a recurring basis, including month-end related accruals.
Document processes and procedures to aid in cross training team members.
Provide accounting support and interact with departments across the organization.
Work closely with management team, ensuring full compliance with GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
Assist with internal control documentation, monitoring, and review.
Prepare and provide information as required for the annual financial audits, SOC1&2 audits, and other audits, as needed.
Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as required.
Prepare, document, and analyze balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare bordereaux reports for submission to underwriters.
Prepare monthly intercompany entries with corporate entities.
If you are who we are looking for, you will have the following education, skills and/or experience:
3-5 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in insurance accounting using GAAP preferred.
Bachelor’s in accounting or business related degree.
Excellent Microsoft computer skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
Experience with managing and manipulating large amounts of data.
Great Plains, JD Edwards, or exposure to other large-scale ERP.
Familiarity with bordereaux reporting and insurance accounting practices.
Exposure to large scale system implementation is a plus.
