Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Three to five years of manufacturing experience is required; plastics industry experience is preferred.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a basic understanding of industrial equipment are required.
  • Proficiency with enterprise resource planning systems and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in an organized manner is required.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the on-site safety champion by promoting and enforcing safety systems and policies.
  • Identify and immediately correct unsafe conditions, conduct root-cause investigations for incidents, and ensure employees complete and comply with required safety training.
  • Oversee all work centers to ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Collaborate with scheduling to meet customer demands, eliminate production barriers, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.
  • Maintain proper staffing levels and ensure team members are trained, appropriately assigned, and remain on task.
  • Act as the key communication link between night-shift employees and leadership by providing updates on priorities, results, and significant events.
  • Partner with Department Managers to implement and track training standards for new and existing employees.
  • Foster skill development, identify potential future leaders, and promote cross-training to build a flexible workforce.
  • Ensure quality procedures are followed and 5S standards are maintained.
  • Reinforce the connection between organization, cleanliness, and safety, and ensure production areas remain in optimal working condition.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, enforce plant rules in alignment with company policy, and document coaching, performance discussions, and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Human Resources and management to ensure accountability and compliance.
