US fintech Meow lands $31.6m Series B funding. Leading the fundraise, Stifel Financial Corp will also offer a white-label version of Meow's platform to its commercial banking clients, starting with venture and fund banking. Founded in 2021 by CEO Brandon Arvanaghi and CTO Bryce Crawford, Meow offers a wide range of business banking services, from checking accounts, crypto services, and corporate cards to treasury services, bookkeeping, and invoicing. The latest injection of capital brings Meow's total funding to over $60 million, building on the firm's $5 million seed and $22 million Series A raises. The integration is expected to be live for Stifel clients by early 2027. Stifel invests in Meow to launch white-label treasury platform for venture banking.

Stifel invests in Meow to launch white-label treasury platform for venture banking. Stifel Financial Corp. has made a strategic minority investment in Meow Technologies, marking a significant expansion of its digital treasury capabilities for the venture capital sector. By white-labeling Meow's platform, Stifel Bank will provide fund and venture clients with an integrated stack for managing cash, payments, and stablecoin transactions, starting in early 2027. What was announced. Stifel Financial Corp. (NYSE: SF) has entered into a multi-faceted partnership with Meow Technologies, Inc., involving both a strategic minority investment and a formal services agreement. Under the terms of the deal, Stifel will offer a white-label version of Meow's treasury management platform through its subsidiary, Stifel Bank. The partnership is primarily focused on the Venture and Fund Banking sector, providing a modern digital interface for managing the complex financial needs of high-growth companies and multi-entity fund structures. The platform will grant Stifel clients access to a suite of tools for managing day-to-day treasury operations, including cash management, payments, and card services. Meow's technology stack also introduces capabilities such as expense management, bill pay, stablecoin payments, and agentic infrastructure. Stifel expects to begin the formal onboarding of clients to this new digital platform in early 2027. This technological integration follows a period of rapid expansion for Stifel's Venture and Fund Banking business, where deposits have grown nearly six-fold since September 2023 to exceed $10 billion. The firm currently serves more than 500 high-growth companies and 250 fund clients, supported by a team of over 125 client-facing professionals across major U.S. technology markets. "Stifel has built one of the fastest-growing venture and fund banking franchises in the country, and we are proud to have them as both an investor and a partner." The companies involved. Stifel Financial Corp. is a diversified global wealth management and investment banking company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. The firm provides a comprehensive range of financial services through several subsidiaries, including Stifel Bank and Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated. Its Venture and Fund Banking division has recently expanded its sector coverage to include Life Sciences, Healthcare, Energy Tech, and Project Finance, with senior coverage teams established in New York and Boston. The business provides venture debt, growth lending, and fund finance, supporting clients from formation through to initial public offerings. Meow Technologies, Inc., known as Meow, is a leading business banking fintech based in the United States. The company specializes in providing digital-first treasury management solutions designed for the modern "innovation economy." Meow's platform is built to handle the specific requirements of startups and investment funds, offering automated tools for cash optimization and payment rails. By partnering with Stifel, Meow combines its agile software capabilities with the balance sheet and regulatory infrastructure of a full-service financial institution, aiming to provide a more robust alternative to traditional corporate banking services. What this means. This partnership highlights a strategic shift in the venture banking sector, where established institutions are increasingly opting for white-label fintech partnerships to accelerate their digital transformation. For Stifel, the investment in Meow is a pragmatic move to secure a "fintech-grade" user experience without the R&D lag of an internal build. This puts immediate pressure on mid-tier commercial banks that still rely on legacy treasury interfaces, as fund managers now demand integrated features like stablecoin compatibility and automated expense management. While the 2027 rollout date provides a temporary window for competitors to respond, the combination of Stifel's $10 billion deposit base and Meow's technical stack creates a formidable challenger in the innovation economy. Stifel strengthens Nordic technology investment banking with senior Nomura hire.

Stifel strengthens Nordic technology investment banking with senior Nomura hire. September 30, 2026 By jan Stifel Financial Corp. has appointed a senior technology investment banker from Nomura Securities to strengthen its Nordic technology sector advisory capabilities, marking the latest strategic expansion move by the St. Louis-based financial services firm in the European technology market. The recruitment underscores intensifying competition among global investment banks to capture technology sector mandates in Scandinavia, where innovation-driven companies have demonstrated remarkable resilience despite broader economic headwinds. The hiring represents Stifel's continued investment in its European operations, particularly within the technology vertical where the firm has systematically built capabilities across software, fintech, and hardware sectors. Nordic countries have emerged as critical hubs for technology innovation, with Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland producing a disproportionately high number of successful technology companies relative to their populations. According to industry data, Nordic technology companies attracted approximately $6.8 billion in venture capital funding in 2023, maintaining the region's position as Europe's second-largest technology ecosystem after the United Kingdom. Stifel has pursued an aggressive expansion strategy in European markets over the past five years, leveraging selective recruitment from established competitors to build specialized industry expertise. The firm's European investment banking division has grown headcount by more than 40 percent since 2019, focusing particularly on technology, healthcare, and industrial sectors. This targeted approach has enabled Stifel to compete effectively against larger rivals including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and European stalwarts such as Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas. Nomura's Nordic technology franchise has historically maintained a strong presence in the region, advising on numerous high-profile transactions involving Scandinavian technology companies. However, the Japanese securities firm has faced strategic challenges in European markets amid shifting competitive dynamics and regulatory pressures. Several European investment banks have experienced talent attrition as mid-sized American firms like Stifel, William Blair, and Jefferies offer competitive compensation packages alongside entrepreneurial cultures that appeal to senior bankers seeking greater autonomy. The Nordic technology sector has demonstrated particular strength in enterprise software, gaming, telecommunications equipment, and clean technology segments. Swedish companies including Spotify, Klarna, and Ericsson have achieved global recognition, while Finland's gaming industry, anchored by companies like Supercell and Rovio, has generated billions in revenue. Denmark has emerged as a fintech hub, and Norway's technology sector benefits from strong government support and proximity to its substantial sovereign wealth resources. Investment banking activity in Nordic technology markets has remained robust despite global economic uncertainty. Merger and acquisition volumes involving Nordic technology targets reached approximately $12.4 billion in 2023, according to financial data providers, while initial public offering activity has shown signs of recovery following a challenging 2022. The region's technology companies have attracted particular interest from North American strategic buyers and private equity firms seeking exposure to innovative business models and engineering talent. Stifel's European expansion strategy aligns with broader industry trends as mid-sized American investment banks seek to diversify revenue streams beyond domestic markets. The firm operates offices in London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Edinburgh, providing corporate finance, equity capital markets, and merger advisory services. Technology sector mandates typically generate higher fee rates compared to traditional industries, making specialized capabilities in this vertical particularly valuable for banks seeking to maximize profitability. The competitive landscape for Nordic technology investment banking has intensified as both global bulge bracket firms and regional specialists vie for advisory mandates. Swedish investment bank Carnegie and Danish firm Danske Bank maintain strong local relationships, while international players leverage cross-border capabilities and access to global investor networks. This dynamic has created opportunities for firms like Stifel that combine specialized sector expertise with international distribution capabilities, positioning them to serve clients across the full spectrum from growth financing through strategic exits.
