Requirements
- The Licensed Massage Therapist must possess and maintain an active, current, and unrestricted license or certification from the United States jurisdiction where services are provided.
- Proficiency in various massage modalities and techniques is required.
- A strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology is required.
- Knowledge of contraindications and precautions for massage therapy is required.
- The ability to assess client needs and develop individualized treatment plans is required.
- Graduation from an accredited Massage Therapy certification program is required.
- At least 2 years of full-time experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist is required, in a medical practice setting or in collegiate or higher-level, professional, or tactical athletics; aerospace industry; test pilot or astronaut environments; or similar man-machine high-performance environments.
- Current certification in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, including Automated External Defibrillator training, is required.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Responsibilities
- Provide services to the Optimize the Human Weapon System program at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska.
- Provide prehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions in fighter aircrew.
- Evaluate and provide massage therapy to fighter aircrew personnel as part of a prehabilitation program.
- Support strengthening of the core musculoskeletal system to enhance resistance to neck and back injury.
- Address healthy lifestyle education as part of an overall health maintenance program to enhance injury resistance.
- Provide massage therapy focused on neck and back pain to improve the overall quality of life for fighter aircrew.
