Requirements

Seven to fifteen years of experience in automation in the Life Sciences industry.
Proficiency with at least one control systems platform, including Rockwell, Schneider, or AVEVA/PI.
Thorough understanding of control system design, coding, and project execution in a GxP environment.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related degree.

Responsibilities

Own and lead the scope of work for Life Sciences projects executed on different platforms.
Function as Project Manager for small- to medium-sized projects, and assist Project Managers on larger projects by identifying scope changes and developing change orders.
Manage a portfolio of projects for Life Sciences customers and contribute to account strategy and planning.
Assist with technology program management in partnership with customers.
Demonstrate understanding of project scope and schedule.
Translate functional requirements into system configuration.
Design control system network architectures, control strategies, and validation plans in a Life Sciences GxP environment.
Serve as a technical contact for customers.
Maintain firm competency in one or more control systems platforms or industrial processes.
Adapt to new technologies by applying learned concepts and functionality.
Interface with clients in design meetings and conference calls.
Lead less experienced engineers on the project team while taking direction from the Project Manager or customer point of contact.
Oversee programming controllers with Rockwell and Siemens as part of quality project delivery.
Oversee the design of electrical control cabinets and panels as part of quality project delivery.
Oversee validation of system configuration to verify functions.
Travel to client sites for project meetings and system commissioning.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with control system platforms other than Rockwell, Schneider, or AVEVA/PI.

Overview

Works directly with customers in the Life Sciences industry to define functional requirements and design, configure, commission and qualify control systems. Manages customer relationships to ensure long-term account success.

Day to Day Activities:

Interfacing with the clients in design meetings and conference calls
Working with the project team leading less experienced engineers and taking directions from the project manager or customer point of contact
Oversee the following as part of quality project delivery
- Programming controllers with Rockwell and Siemens
- Designing electrical control cabinets and panels
- Validation of the system configuration to verify functions
Travel to client site for project meetings
Travel to client site for system commissioning

Qualifications

7-15 years of experience in automation in the Life Sciences industry
As a minimum, must be at least proficient with one or more of the following platforms:
- Rockwell
- Schneider
- AVEVA/PI
- Experience on other control system platforms is a plus.
Thorough understanding of control system design, coding and project execution in a GxP environment
Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with people
B.S. in Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering or Engineering Technology or related degree
