Responsibilities
  • Implement enterprise-wide architecture standards, principles, and guardrails across application, integration, and platform domains and projects.
  • Partner with IT and business leadership to establish a long-term enterprise architecture vision aligned to business strategy.
  • Lead development of business architecture artifacts such as capability maps, value streams, and roadmaps to connect business strategy, operating models, and technology architecture.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and platforms, guiding adoption decisions based on value, risk, and architectural fit.
  • Champion scalable, resilient, and sustainable enterprise solutions that balance innovation with operational excellence.
  • Own and evolve enterprise architecture vision through project implementation across marketing technology and customer engagement platforms; supply chain, inventory, logistics, and merchandising systems; or store, point-of-sale, and unified commerce platforms.
  • Guide architectural direction for capabilities such as campaign management, personalization, martech integrations, order management, fulfillment, and in-store operations.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to simplify fragmented landscapes, reduce redundancy, and improve interoperability.
  • Enable seamless, end-to-end omnichannel experiences through cohesive architecture design.
  • Build trusted advisory relationships with senior business, product, and IT leaders.
  • Ensure alignment between business priorities, transformation roadmaps, and technology investments.
  • Translate business strategy into business capability models, value streams, and target-state projects that guide technology investment and transformation priorities.
  • Represent Enterprise Architecture in executive forums, steering committees, and strategic planning discussions.
  • Provide architecture-driven perspectives on investment decisions, risk trade-offs, and sequencing.
  • Lead and participate in architecture governance processes, ensuring consistency with enterprise standards and principles.
  • Collaborate with solution and domain architects to review and validate solution designs.

  • Collaborate with application support and operations teams to address systemic issues and reduce long-term technical debt.
  • Provide guidance on architectural trade-offs, patterns, and best practices.
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives, proof-of-concepts, and pilot programs to evaluate new ideas and technologies.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve architectural maturity, simplify complexity, and improve time-to-value.
  • Ensure architectural decisions, reference models, and key learnings are documented and shared across teams.

  • A master's degree or formal architecture training such as The Open Group Architecture Framework or equivalent is a plus.
  • Retail, omnichannel, supply chain, or consumer-facing digital experience is strongly preferred.

Academy Sports shares jump 11% on Q2 beat, raises guidance to $6.70 EPS

Academy Sports and Outdoors shares surged over 11% in premarket trading Wednesday after the sporting goods retailer beat second-quarter earnings expectations and raised full-year profit guidance. Adjusted earnings per share reached $2.31, surpassing the analyst consensus of $2.08. Revenue hit $1.65 billion, up 3.0% year-over-year, matching market expectations. Comparable sales declined 0.4%, reflecting pressure on consumer spending among lower-income households. However, e-commerce revenue grew 12.8% during the quarter. The company raised its fiscal 2026 adjusted earnings guidance to between $6.50 and $6.90 per share, up from the previous range of $6.40 to $6.80. Full-year net sales guidance remained unchanged at $6.23 billion to $6.36 billion. Chief executive Steve Lawrence said the company is reinvesting tariff-related benefits into value whilst expanding new brands and accelerating omnichannel initiatives.

A net tariff refund contributed $0.06 to EPS, including reinvestments. The company opened three new stores during the quarter across Pennsylvania and Tennessee, bringing its total store count to 327. It plans to open 11 stores in the third quarter. Academy affirmed its sales guidance for fiscal 2026 whilst raising EPS expectations. The board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.15 per share, payable 14 October 2026.

Academy says the relocated store, which will occupy the address formerly occupied by Big Lots, will continue selling apparel, footwear and equipment for hunting, fishing, camping, outdoor cooking and team sports. The retailer did not announce an exact opening date or provide information about when its current Macon location will close. Academy Sports + Outdoors has appointed Matthew M. Pasch as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer.
