Requirements
  • Current Texas Medical Board Medical Radiologic Technologist General certification; limited and non-certified credentials are not applicable.
  • Registered Technologist in Radiography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic radiographic procedures and anatomy.
  • Excellent patient care, communication, attention to detail, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy outpatient environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray examinations according to established protocols.
  • Verify patient identity, review physician orders, and obtain appropriate patient history.
  • Prepare and position patients while ensuring comfort, safety, and image quality.
  • Educate patients about their examination and answer questions to provide an exceptional patient experience.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation in the Radiology Information System, Picture Archiving and Communication System, and electronic medical record systems.
  • Perform daily quality-control procedures and ensure imaging equipment operates safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere to radiation-safety standards, infection-control policies, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements, Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, and company procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with radiologists, referring providers, and fellow team members to provide patient care.
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain professional competency.
  • Cross-train into computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging as opportunities become available.
  • Assist with departmental workflow and other duties as assigned.
