About the job
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state where the candidate will teach.
- Three years of bedside experience with a Bachelor's degree, or six years of experience with an Associate's degree.
- Ability to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
- Current knowledge of nursing practice and clinical experience.
- Ability to mentor students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Broad knowledge of nursing sciences.
- Experience handling day-to-day operations in a nursing laboratory.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Current immunizations and Basic Life Support certification.
- Improve instructional quality by reviewing and applying innovative teaching methodologies and techniques.
- Use online activities to enhance course content during interactive teaching and learning.
- Assist with reviewing and revising course syllabi and instructional guidelines.
- Submit required program reports and forms to the program director on time.
- Stay current with new technologies and safety regulations.
- Maintain student attendance, grades, skills check-off forms, and program data by established deadlines.
- Update and maintain student files related to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirements.
- Teach courses at different times and locations according to program needs.
- Teach lecture content and clinical rotations during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
- Participate in professional development and maintain continuing-education hours required for licensure renewal.
- Participate in assigned committees while prioritizing teaching responsibilities.
