Must live within one hour of the service territory and regularly travel throughout it; services are provided in family homes.
About the job
- Willingness and ability to provide therapy inside family homes as a regular part of the position.
- Ability to maintain a flexible, non-traditional schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Willingness to regularly travel throughout the full identified service territory to meet with families and provide services where needed.
- Willingness to live locally, within one hour of the noted territory.
- Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, counseling, education, or another relevant human service profession is preferred; it is required for a site supervisor position.
- Qualified Professional status or eligibility for applicable clinical licensure, including Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
- Carry a caseload as assigned.
- Actively participate as part of a therapy team, including attending weekly team and individual supervision meetings.
- Assist families by actively referring them to appropriate services and supports, including clinical and concrete services.
- Make case progress notes as required.
- Participate in all training, supervision, and consultation activities.
- Provide mental health services in the community for youth and their families following the Multisystemic Therapy evidence-based model throughout the different stages of treatment.
- Direct use of pragmatic family therapies, including structural, strategic, and functional family therapies.
- Individual therapy with youth and adults using cognitive behavioral techniques.
- Marital therapy using behaviorally based approaches.
- Behavioral therapy targeting school behavior and academic performance.
- Implementation of interventions within or between systems in the youth's natural ecology, including family, peer, school, and neighborhood systems.
- Knowledge and application of family systems theory.
- Knowledge and application of social-ecological theory.
- Knowledge and application of behavioral therapy theory.
- Knowledge and application of cognitive-behavioral therapy theory.
- Knowledge and application of pragmatic family therapy theory.
- Knowledge and application of child development research in treatment.
- Social skills assessment and intervention.
- Basic counseling and process skills.
- Experience working with youth and families.
- Ability to engage clients and collaborate effectively with individuals and families.
- Willingness and ability to remain strengths-focused, advocate for youth and families, and empower families to solve their own problems.
- Ability to shift to process, manage stress, maintain self-awareness, and work comfortably with cultural differences.
