Requirements
  • A related university bachelor's degree in Criminology, Psychoeducation, Psychology, Social Work, or an equivalent field is required.
  • Fluency in French and English is essential; English is the primary working language with families and local staff.
  • Significant experience in youth protection, ideally in application of protective measures, is essential.
  • A valid driver's license is required for inter-community travel.
  • The role requires adaptability and responsibility to work in a northern, multicultural setting.
Responsibilities
  • Apply child-protection measures for children and families in the Ungava Bay region under the Youth Protection Act.
  • Assess the situations of minors in difficulty and intervene in crises or situations of vulnerability.
  • Work closely with local partners, institutions, and community leaders.
  • Travel periodically by bush or regional plane to villages along the Ungava coast to conduct follow-ups.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior work experience in a northern territory or intercultural setting.
