Requirements
  • At least five years of experience in broadcasting engineering, preferably supervising an engineering department.
  • An associate degree in electronics or another technical field, or commensurate experience in broadcast engineering positions.
  • Baseline information technology skills, including experience with networks, Microsoft operating systems, and personal computer hardware.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and security hardware and software.
  • Basic familiarity with heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems and principles.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to drive to work sites as required.
  • Ability to lift reasonable weights, work on ladders, and work in enclosed spaces.
  • After-hours on-call availability, with some weekend or holiday work as required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee a four-person engineering team and contract engineering.
  • Solve day-to-day issues for programming staff working in radio studios.
  • Work closely with the chief executive officer and chief operating officer to identify engineering problems and solutions and implement new technology as appropriate.
  • Ensure radio stations operate in compliance with Federal Communications Commission rules and regulations and applicable state and local regulations.
  • Manage and budget capital equipment repair and replacement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with WideOrbit automation, MediaTouch automation, BE AudioVault automation, and WheatNet IP audio systems.
  • Society of Broadcast Engineers certification.
