Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of occupational therapy.
  • Hold a current state license as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Hold a current CPR certification.
Responsibilities
  • Assess referred patients' medical condition, functional capabilities, and rehabilitation potential.
  • Design and administer individualized treatment programs with clear, achievable goals under physician direction.
  • Document patient progress and communicate status and needs to patients, families, and the care team.
  • Delegate appropriate treatment to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and provide clinical supervision.
  • Direct Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehab Aides in skilled tasks, ensuring compliance with State Practice Acts and OBRA.
  • Build relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary staff.
  • Participate in care planning, utilization review, case management, and family conferences.
  • Educate patients and families on occupational therapy techniques and home strategies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Six months of long-term care experience.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining treatment plans clearly to residents, families, and staff.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Reliability, punctuality, dependability, and teamwork.
