Requirements
A minimum of five years of corporate accounting experience.
Experience developing complex reports using financial reporting software.
Experience analyzing, manipulating, and retrieving large data sets.
A bachelor's degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
Advanced understanding of accounting and financial principles and methodologies.
Advanced knowledge of SQL.
Advanced knowledge of large enterprise resource planning systems, preferably Oracle, and Hyperion.
Advanced knowledge of month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to understand the scope and purpose of data requests and produce accurate, useful reports.
Ability to work independently or with little direction, demonstrate initiative, and meet established deadlines.

Responsibilities
Lead projects or major departmental initiatives independently, with minimal supervision, from beginning to end.
Perform complex financial analysis as requested by management and within required timelines.
Prepare, analyze, and reconcile financial data from organizational operations.
Perform the month-end close process and balance sheet reconciliations.
Research coding issues using Halo, Diamond, and GP/Oracle Financial software.
Analyze SQL data and develop analytical reports, including analysis, summarization, and interpretation of results.
Lead preparation of audit data requests and develop responses for internal and external auditors.
Communicate with Information Technology and Healthcare Informatics departments to gather information required for reporting deliverables.
Perform quality assurance and peer reviews of financial reports and other output.
Mentor and assist with cross-training junior analysts, and assist leadership in ensuring adequate backup for other departmental areas.
Perform other duties required to support health plan operations and departmental business needs.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in statutory reporting.
Experience in the managed care or a related industry.
A master's degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
Knowledge of healthcare industry principles and practices, healthcare systems, capitated risk contracting, provider network structures, and risk-sharing arrangements.

Reporting to Department Leadership, the Financial Analyst III - Financial Reporting is responsible for leading the preparation of monthly variance analyses, and database queries and reports. This role prepares board and regulatory reporting, audit requests, and completes ad hoc business analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
Education & Requirements

Managed Care or related industry experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field from an accredited required
Master’s degree in finance, healthcare administration, or a related field from an accredited preferred

Work Model Location
