About the job
- A welding test is required.
- At least two years of welding experience in manufacturing or industrial settings is required.
- Proficiency in MIG welding on mild and stainless steel is required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop prints is required.
- Experience using fabrication tools such as grinders, clamps, gauges, and torches is required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment is required.
- Basic math skills, including measuring and conversions, are required.
- Ability to pass a weld test, background check, and drug screening is required.
- Interpret shop drawings and welding symbols to perform accurate welds.
- Perform MIG welding on mild and stainless steel, including spray transfer.
- Set up, align, tack, and weld components to meet dimensional specifications.
- Perform fit-up, cope, and layout work for assemblies.
- Operate fabrication tools and equipment, including grinders, torches, and plasma cutters.
- Inspect welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications.
- Perform grinding, finishing, and weld repairs as needed.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy, including square, plumb, and alignment, throughout fabrication.
- Collaborate with team members and notify inspectors when work is ready.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
- Welding certifications such as 1G or 3G are preferred.
- Forklift experience or certification is preferred.
- Experience with fabrication equipment such as press brakes, lasers, or turret punches is preferred.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
